eating like a picky 8 year old: totally okay for sickies.

I had a dream last night that I had been signed up for a powerlifting meet by my wonderful boyfriend that I didn’t even know about until the day of. I was freaking out because I didn’t think I was going to make weight, but it turns out I weighed in within my weight class! (Right now I do happen to be 129, so this is pretty accurate, and a relief) Then I found out he had picked all my openers for me which was another source of anxiety because he tends to think I hold myself back so of course he picked really challenging openers 155lb bench, 255lb deadlift, and 224lb squat (don’t know what those are in kg, but hey this is my dream ok!!)

And I was FREAKING out about the squat which makes no sense, because I know I easily have that weight for a single. I just haven’t been doing any heavy singles and doubles recently so I was really worried and worked up. Maybe this is a sign that I just need to freaking squat heavier, more often for singles and doubles and stay in my weight class because then a lot of anxiety will be alleviated.

I'm all better, I guess. Just as a refresher, I log all my workouts weightxrepsxsets, everything in lbs.

Well, I kind of HAD to squat 225 yesterday if only for a single because I was feeling totally freaked out over my dream. Today I did some complexes, pushed the sled around, ran for 15 min and walked on an incline for 20. I feel a lot better! I think all that rest when I was sick did me some good.

Funny how rest can result in feeling strong when you get back in the gym. Those deload weeks can be valuable. Sometimes our bodies force them on us unfortunately. Like MiM said, there are a lot of people getting some serious flu in the summer time here. WTH??? Glad you are better, kicking ass and running from your dreams. ha!

oh my god do i relate to the anxiety lameness from this stuff sometimes!! But you should know that you have nothing to fear! you’ve already proven that mad skills you have–all done, all checked off, now its all the cherries on top.

Sled sprints for 10 min with 2 plates and a quarter. I would just push the sled explosively and then rest a bit until I felt ready for the next one and do it again. I tried to be as low and quick and intense as possible. Then I dragged it around at a moderate pace with two plates for 15 min. Then just screwing around farmers walks with the 45 plates, which weren’t very challenging, but I’m definitely going to include more for further distances and with heavier dumbbells etc because they’re so freaking healthy and good for you. Then I ran for 8 min. I was going to go for 20, but my knee was acting up and I have to max squats tomorrow so whatev, I’m not bothered by that. 30 min of incline walking.

I had a similar powerlifting dream a week or so ago. I think I wrote about it in my log. Funny, eh?

haha yes I did read that!! I think I’m just feeling weak/insecure right now which is what brought on the dream.

I dunno what was going on here either, I guess my deadlift has really detrained from all the time I layed off. I’ve been having some lower back issues so I will just try and stretch it out the best I can and see if it feels any better by next week.

What a beast.

The fat loss is coming along very, very slowly. I got sick once, which set me back because I had to take days off. I have also had friends from out of town visit, so I drank 3 times and attended one Indian buffet gorging session since I began trying to lose fat which is kind of stupid because I normally NEVER drink. It really wasn’t worth it either because the amount of booze it would take me to get drunk is an amount I’m not willing to ingest so I just would sort of sip on some drinks that taste like ass to make my friends think I am normal. Which is not fooling anybody. I barely even caught a buzz. Anyway, quads, if you compare it to the last one there is a difference…time to get serious. And now its time to get serious.

Gah I’m so jealous.
