LOL no quarters bro, maybe one day 275! Yeah DJ the thumbless grip is the shit, just started doing em with flat bench, its a bit scary but really helps with my power off my chest.
This is awesome…I will be adding some of my own this week
Tried pressing an atlas stone. did some with lighter stones, it really is stupid thing… Hope it gets removed from the comp I am doing
at about 2:50 of this video I tried to embed it from that starting time but T-Nation will not allow

yeah its dumb I have it in an upcoming comp though… Ive gotten great at bailing on lifts though
I don’t post much anymore, but I like a thread about putting shit overhead. Are there other challenge threads like this?
Someone mentioned pressing women.

This is from several years ago when I worked in a restaurant and would press the waitresses overhead.
And this is from over the summer. I don’t remember the weight and it’s hard to see the plates. I’m guessing around 240.
I’ll try to get something new up soon. I was thinking a keg press, but Kalle’s vid has me tempted to try a stone press.

Y’all should insist whoever came up with that idea do it first. Be careful and good luck.

Awesome
Video will take me a while to load but I tried the stone press also…what a horrible idea that is. Should have known I couldn’t do a 165 since Kalle is significantly stronger than me and couldn’t get the 180, but I’ve never been one to use logic
Making progress with the C&P. Tweaked the press and 95K went up easy. Now I really need to figure out how to maximize the leg portion of the press. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
edit: nvm.
I’m maxing out on press (dead start from rack pos) next week so I’ll record it. I’m thinking 195 lbs or something.

haha I would but I’ve personally seen him press a 300lb stone above his head like cake. Good news is it was changed to a 240lb log press for reps so I am happy with that! Felt weak and haven’t log pressed since Nationals but did 235x5 real easy. Aiming for 10 reps with 240 come show time

That you tried it at all shows you are not logical! hahaha Post the vid up when you can!

Looked good you were going for a push press right? Hard to tell from angle but looked like the bar stayed out in front of you a bit, quicker you get your head through the easier and faster it goes up

When you get the stone up top you need to get a better shelf before you press. you need a full thoracic spine extension so when you push press up the stone has a straighter line upwards. Right now you look like your “watchin” the weight in your hands as opposed to feeling it there.
By extension I mean you need to push your lower sternum as far out as you can so the weight rests on your skeletal structure instead of in your hands.

Good tips thats what me and my training partner were saying, nice good back lean. Thankfully I don’t have to train it anymore

Thanks for the advice. I was up on my toes at the end so it definetly was out in front of me. I was trying for a push press, still have not figured out the leg part of the push all that well. The frustrating thing is I know how to split-jerk, actually came quite natural to me, but my spondi just does not allow for a weighted split stance. I cannot seem to translate that same explosion into a squat stance.
I thought I would give a more strict press out of the rack on Wednesday. Wonder if it is going to look the same. Ha!
Fuckin’ real men in this thread. Nothing but mad respect.
