Wow. You think the “fuckers” in, say Atlanta would’ve reacted any differently?

I dunno, it’s possible…We fuckers can be pretty lazy. Rioting takes effort.

as a white middle class man i believe the 3 police officers there should all be charged with murder. They are clearly up to no good. I would push for the death penalty on the asswhipe who pulled the trigger, and they should be placed in general population.

Just because they have a badge does not give them the right to execute an individual. That is beyond disgusting. Grant was clearly cooperating. He was doing as the officers asked, and he clearly killed him, execution style. There was no reason for him to draw his weapon, the other 2 officers i saw should of said “Hey, what the fuck are you doing?”

Instead they looked on, and just passively watched his fellow officer execute a man. This has totally destroyed my faith(what little is left) in both the police and the justice system. In my town a woman was screaming in the cemetary, probably at a dead relative, and a police officer showed up and killed her. She had a cell-phone.

I can tell you didn’t watch the second video the OP posted. Wanna know how I know? The reporter even says “there is what seems to be a struggle”.

In any crowded incident where you have large numbers of people fighting you are always going to have a cover officer draw down in case mob mentality kicks in and people decide to overpower the arresting officers. The problem with this guy was he is obviously the stupidest person on the planet.

Those of you who sit at desk can critique all day long. The bottom line is most people couldn’t hack all that it entails to work odd shifts, have any days off other than saturday and sunday and work 95% of the major holidays.

That doesn’t even include the constant stressful situations of felony traffic stops and fights for your life with people who will do anything not to go back to prison.

This lady that was killed in your town, was it day or night? Did she not rspond to the officer then turn in a quick manner with something in her hand pointed at the officer? I guess he should have waited to possibly be shot at before he responded?

All very true. i’m not a LEO, but have had training in lethal gun self defense in the style of Massad Ayoob. My instructors had taken all of his classes through LFI three and kubotan. To an untrained observer, things that are justified seem not so. they don’t know guns, so they think the person’s actions were harmless.

A cop or a trained gun owner knows how to act to put someone at ease in regards to the same situation. It only takes 1 second to draw and fire, and when that weapon is out, the cop or good guy has lost if the bad guy shoots straight.

It takes only 1.2 to 2 seconds to draw a knife or other contact weapon and cover 7 yards, barely enough time to draw and fire. This is why police officers seem so dickish in certain situations. What you are doing is often wrong.

Someone asks to see your hands and you’re fumbling in a purse, or quickly reach in a pocket, what is he supposed to do?

According to the professionals in this thread the cop should wait to see if it is an actual gun going to be pointed at them. Because the cops life is alot less valuable then the person not cooperating in the dangerous situation.

They say ignorance is no excuse for the law. Meaning just because you didn’t know punching the guy next to you and taking his cell phone is robbery does not excuse you from prosecution and possible 15 years in prison. Why should be any different if you don’t follow a police officers orders, all of the sudden ignorance is an excuse to be belligerent?

Uh, according to the video the dude was lying face down on the ground, hands behind his back and another officer had his foot on his neck…I’d say the suspect was under control.

Actually according to the announcer in the video he does state what appears to be a struggle at first. In a situation like that drawing your weapon is not uncommon at all.

You do realize by the time a gun is pointed at that cop he is dead. But then again you said a cops life is alot less valuable anyway. Its official cops are guinnea pigs. We can be stabbed, bitten, beatup and killed but thats alright were expendable. On the other side of the coin what is so hard about complying with lawful orders? If a cop tells you to take your hand out of your pocket while he’s talking to you,or to stay in the car. And you guys says cops are the ones who are combative?

So true, whenever I have been stopped by an officer, I act normal and comply. I keep my hands were he can see them.I move carefully when I get my license and registration. And I don’t act like a dick.

It’s kind of funny that sometimes politeness gets you out of a ticket, while being obnoxious doesn’t.
