That sounds like it’ll be fantastic!
I should fly down!
That would be awesome! You know if my wife and I ever plan a trip to TW it would be a privilege and an honour to train with you one day, provided you don’t think I’d slow you down :)
That’s a great idea…I need somone to slow me down, I accidentally squatted 580 for 12 last night!
Yeah, if you want to come up sometme we’ll get together!
Ronnie completed a chest/tricep training session yesterday, answered about 15 questions and did some posing to finish things off. Trying to get pics uploaded here but both the pic upload and video upload didn’t work (hoping a MOD reads this and gives some advice on what’s going on). I got videos of the Q+A and working sets.
Exercise wise he did flat bench DB presses, incline and decline DB presses, skull crushers, standing tricep kick backs, behind the neck french presses all in 3 to 4 sets with 1 to 2 working sets.
Video 2. Q+A. I asked him about how he was able to achieve size as well as his strength achievements. I tried to get as many videos of the answers as possible. Sorry if some of the questions were missed recording. There was a question which i think I missed about whether he’d do another Olympia and he said “No”.
also… Thats fucking awesome and I’m so jealous. That has to be a weird workout environment having soooo many people watching you and tons of snapping photography all the time. I’m sure he’s used to it though
Such a personable guy… After Yates retired I so didn’t want to like Ronnie, but it’s just impossible not to. He just seemed to be enjoying the ride so damn much that you’re genuinely happy for him.

The guy just seems like a kind of guy that would take an up n comer under his wing. I love that.

how many "yeaaaaaaa buddy"s did you hear? I would have been sad to not hear some of them or some "light weight baybaaaaaay"s
Quite a few “light weight” comments from other guys watching. He was quite focused through the workout. Couple of other things:
He mentioned he didn’t use full ROM to protect his joints and grow the muscle.
He practised higher reps to build mass (worked well for him).
Says for him genetics helped alot.
Believes there is a place for “technology” in BB.
His biggest obstacle is injury.
Has binged on food before but regretted it and had to do 2 hours cardio a day for a month to get back to normal. He only eats a bit more during the holiday season.
Some of the above will appear in the videos. Trying to get them loaded ASAP.

Stu, he’s quite humble, keeps to himself. Didn’t really talk much and always spoke softly. I was kind of naive and asked for an autograph (sorry I must feel like a kid) but he kind of avoided that but was nice enough to take a photo with me.
I was at work all day, too busy to go through the threads (weird, right? these threads are for DURING work Xander, this is SO awesome. I’m so glad you got the opportunity and love the pics and vids you posted so that we could all see them.

You are right Greg. I thought the same thing, about how many people were watching him. And realised that he’s “in the zone”, he knows what weight to select, he knows how much rest time to get, he goes by feeling.
Sometimes we need to be like that in real life, just do our thing like the whole world is watching but we don’t care, we got one more rep to hit.
Here’s another pic showing Ronnie likes to read about cars too (haha). It’s a local Singapore magazine.

You’re most welcome Deb, you’ve done a lot to inspire me too! I’m 12 hours ahead of EST so I try and post during off time at work or from home. Meeting him and a few other trainers that day changes your perspective on a few things (like the qualities needed to be successful).

He was answering a question about who his influences were and who he looks to for advice and mentioned Lee Haney’s name for the former and the names of a few people for the latter. Interestingly he mentioned that one particular trainer moved him towards winning all his Olympias. Like going to “another level”. Hope we all find those people that bring us to the “next level”.

That must’ve been just great. What an experience.
Haha In Video 2, there is a tall black/brown bloke with no hair and glasses standing behind a white bloke in a white t-shirt holding the camera and nodding as Ronnie speaks (because I asked him the question). That’s me
