Quick and simple…if people here always bash bodybuilding.com as the place to go for stupid information, how come everyone over there seems to be bigger than those of us over here?
I haven’t seen too many physiques in the section here that are half as good as those in the top list over at bb’ing.com on bodyspace. Kiyoshi Moody of course is the best that I’ve seen here, but there are lots over there almost as good. So why the bad talk?
Kiyoshi Moody can come in as well conditioned as he wants, but his overall aesthetic sucks. I don’t know why people kiss his ass over his physique just because he’s lean.
There are literally over ten times more visitors to BBing.com than there are to T-Nation. With that volume of people you will have more people posting, and by statistics you will have more large posters, which of course will stay towards the top of the thread due to popularity.
I don;t know about people over there being ‘bigger’,… I mean, of course they advertise in most muscle rags, so a lot of juice heads jumped on their whole ‘bodyspace’ campaign. But, whenever I would search their forums for any info on a new supplement or something, I’d get the impression they were all newbies, or interbmediates at the best, mostly younger kids 15-25 years old, with no damn clue of what the f*ck they’re doing.
Occassionally you’d have someone with some real insight, but I like to think that t-mag just has a better quality of trainer posting.
What the hell is this bodyspace? I can only imagine it likens itself to MySpace, which is one of the most ego-filled places I’ve ever seen. If bodyspace is a myspace focused purely on looks… wow, there might be ego spilling onto my keyboard.
Also, just my opinion, but I’d say ‘Mad Titan’ and ‘Gifted!’ are the best physiques that have posted here, and both seem surprisingly humble.
Lots of people, with good nutrition and hard training, can build impressive physiques. To do so, while maintaining some humility, and possessing some semblance of intelligence, is far more rare, and is what I think you might find more of here than at other sites.

I can’t see any good reason for somebody who isn’t on the Biotest payroll to smack-talk BB.com…but that’s just me.

I’m going to have to agree. Each site has its negatives/positives. T-Nation shines in the article department. No other site really comes close. Though its a lot harder on this site to find a unbiased supplement review of a product. Usually anything non-Biotest gets bashed right away even though it might be a great product and better than something Biotest has to offer. Though the same can be said to bodybuilding.com; try putting Biotest in the forum search engine and its pretty negative results toward any product even something as effective as Surge. Overall I would give T-Nation the edge because of superior articles and more knowledgable forum members.
I go on there once in awhile, but it’s pretty gimmicky, ads for things you’d never see on here, and they use points and such to try and make it fun. Now I’m definately a light-weight, but even I know enough to not fall for that.
I know i said i go on it, which may seem hypocritical of me, but it’s no where near as often as I’m on T-Nation.

This is what I was going to say.
In addition to the number of physiques you get more opinions as well. Douchebags will be present on any site and if your site is humungous, you are open to a humungous amount of douchebags who are entitled to an opinion.
The average age of the posters there seems to be a problem as well, along with the reps and negs and no homo bull shit that bugs me.
The articles and forums are better here, but VERY marketing heavy. BB.com seems less product specific, but their overall knowledge quality seems less as well. I’ve read some stuff on there that’s good, but there is alot of not so good information as well.

Yeah that’s true, whenever I watch their show, The Posedown, it feels well mainstream? It feels more and more people are into the whole bodybuilding thing, and it just irks me for some reason.
There are plenty of juicers and pros on the bodyspace, so one could get the impression they have more “top level” guys.
I don’t buy it. [/quote]
Well, they could be doing what the guys at MD Online do, which is basically pay a few pros to visit their forums every week and make their presence known.
I don’t find bodybuilding.com very useful in terms of content or advice. It’s poorly moderated and there’s a lot of BS when it comes to training knowledge.
However I’m partial to elitefitness.com mostly because of a lot of good content that’s come out of there, like madcow’s breakdown of different 5x5 training styles, ripptoe’s programs, bill starr’s programs, and stuff like dual factor theory and periodization. Not to mention the huge powerlifting section. There are a lot of useless sections on that site though.
