Opinion on John Meadows Program

Hello,
CT, whats yout opinion on john meadows programs for e.g reactive pump program. Well not really the program, more the frequency.

In his programs or the basic weekly split he uses a 4 day template and for each day a body part e.g legs- back - chest+shoulders - arms . In one of your articles you say that for natural guys , they should forget the “1 time per week crap”. Does that mean if I want to do something like a Meadows program that I should adapt it (I= natural, 4 years of training ) or should I completely stay away from this kind of training?

Best wishes and thanks for your time:)

I’m looking at the Reactive Pump program and it’s 5 days a week. Chest/Shoulders are trained twice a week.

Arms are only trained once directly BUT they are worked also when you do back and chest/shoulders, so they receive plenty of stimulation.

The back and legs are only trained once. Which is not ideal IMHO but the way John trashes legs I’m not sure if I could do them twice per week.

But I’d prefer to add a second back workout that is more pump oriented.

Understood CT. I think i will just try a meadows program and see how it works.
Are there some “special” people who generally get better results from 1 time per week anhiliation training than from 2 times per week training? (They are naturals)

I’m not john Meadows (obviously) but I did do the entire reactive pump program work out. I also spoke (on forums) a few good times with him on the program.

He actually seems very flexible in terms of changing things to fit your needs.
He also mentioned that there are two chest/shoulders days because he found that’s what most people wanted to focus on. On some of his clients he does a 6 day program and that includes a heavy back day as well as a pump back day. Further more rear delts (which CT says he likes doing on back day) is worked on both Chest/shoulders days.
As for legs most of the program includes deadlift with chains on the heavy back day. Ramping up in weight followed by a very grueling max rep set. (Going from 10 to 25 reps [if you get 25 you add 50lb to the barbell on the next workout] ).

You can kind of view that as a second day of leg stimulation. Also his leg work outs are as CT says… Yurt only doing them once a week. Dave Tate can be seen on YouTube puking from various Meadows legs work outs…
For arms you will lose pump if you try to do any higher frequency than every 7 days, I found that through much trial and error.

For frequency in general CT mentioned he likes doing a once a week bodybuilding style work out after doing his more traditional style.

CT - sorry didn’t mean to put words in your mouth, you cab correct me if I am wrong.

@absoluteboxer

Can you tell me more pease? I am really interested:)

That’s one way I did it, but it’s not how I do it now.
