What’s your opinion on Filippo Massaroni’s cluster set?
I’ll translate:
Take you 8rm:
Perform 5 reps, rest 30 seconds, perform another 5 reps, rest 30 seconds and repeat until you can’t perform 5 reps anymore.
Rest 3-5 minutes
Repeat with previous weight (of course you’ll get a lower number of sets)
That’s it for your main lift for that muscle
I’ve used that many many years ago. Probably 10+ years ago (might even have written about it). I called them “hard 5s”.
It works. Pretty much an extended rest/pause set. And rest/pause always works.
