Opening A Real Gym

After a couple of years of watching fellow trainers con and mislead their clueless clients, I’ve decided to open a “real” studio where “real” strategies (T-Mag Style, of course) can be implemented. My only problem is getting help on developing a business plan. Can anyone give me some advice or point me in the right direction? Thanx mucho!

There will always be a conflict between making money and running the gym right. I won’t do mine until I have the income stream from another source (I’m already working that one, and I’m about half way there).

Get the book or software “How to Write a Business Plan.” Basically it is a work book with a ton of questions. Once you have answered them all you have yourself a business plan. Good Luck.

Go to philkaplan.com. He’s got a pretty decent book on the business side of training. BusinessPlan Pro softward is also a nice package with softward and the top rated book on business planning.

Thanx for your input. Brider, I fully agree with you but my dilemna is that I’m a Pro-trainer and I often get so much shit for my supposed “unorthadox” routines and advice. So much so that I feel it’s biting into my profits!

You might try your local CORE office…an association of retired executives who probably can help you with it for no charge.
