Only One Ricky Hatton

So ive been hearing about Hattons unsureness on coming back to the ring or not, and it got me thinking about matches that i would love to see him in. Ricky was/is one of my favorite fighters today, and if he decided to come back for a couple more fights, not a run at a title i just dont think he has it in him, but just a few more fights to make some cash and go out on a better note than a 2nd round KO i would absolutely cheer him on.

-Juan Diaz. No way Juan could hurt Ricky and i doubt he could outbox him. Ricky would bully the shit out of him. Plus i dont really like diaz.

-Juan Manuel Marquez. Now the reason i mention this name is because of the rumors floating around. I always like watching 2 boxers fight coming off of losses, they always seem hungry again…or washed up haha. I think marquez would have a lot of trouble with Hatton because marquez isnt hard to corner (watch the diaz fight) but he is good at countering when pressured(diaz, pac etc.) So i think it would be interesting to watch to see if Hatton could pressure Marquez like he used to and get him out of his comfort zone and smother any counterounches.

-Mike Katsidis(if i spelled that right). Brawler, not too much skill, likes to fight, tough. Great matchup, plenty of action. If Katsidis could put on a few pounds which im sure he could i think this would be a sick match.

Any other names in the 140 pound class??

I’m happy for Ricky to stay retired. He’s made his money (not that you can tell from his home!) and given us some great moments. He’s a funny guy and all his faculties are intact - he’s got nothing to prove and nothing to gain. I hope he can douse his competitive fire…

I thought Marquez was gonna fight Katsidis anyway?

As for Hatton, the only fight he’d do now was the UK cashcow vs Amir Khan imo. And it’s not worth it.

Well, most around here know that Hatton is my favorite fighter still currently going, and one of my favorites of all time.

That being said, I would love to see him fight again but I’m not sure how he would do against ANYONE.

Juan Diaz is a good matchup, because as you said, Juan couldn’t really hurt him, and Hatton could bully him and probably knock him out.

JMM would probably put a serious hurtin on Ricky. Marquez got shutout against Mayweather, yes, but he was also fighting two classes out of his natural division for the first time against the best fighter in the world. You can’t break a guy’s balls for that. With how he knocked out Diaz earlier this year, I think that he would do the same to Hatton.

And Katsidis… nothing special, but definitely has a big enough punch to knock Ricky out… which, if you can’t tell, happens very easily now.

I’d say maybe give Malignaggi a rematch (guy can’t crack an egg) or Diaz, who would make for an exciting fight. Khan also, because he’s lacking in power. Otherwise, I don’t know who else Hatton could fight… certainly not Holt, Torres, or any of the other big time 140 lbers. anymore. They hit too hard.

“It’s a shame we gotta get old stallion.”

according to this report Marquez and Hatton have Verbally agreed to fight HATTON AND MARQUEZ VERBALLY AGREE TO FIGHT|| FIGHTHYPE.COM

Zab Judah may be an entertaining opponent as well

This was mentioned on the news a couple of days ago, maybe it’ll happen.
