Max when you feel you’ve gotten significantly stronger. It’s up to you really, just don’t do it too often that it affects you negatively. In fact, you can do sets of singles or doubles at about 80-90% , resting only 60-90 seconds between each set and that’ll stimulate muscle growth. And us young kids don’t get injured often unless it’s bad form. We don’t lift heavy enough to get injured.
You’re 16, unless you’re a chinese lifter that got sent to a training hall at the age of 9, you’re a beginner.
No, I’m not a chinese lifter that started at 9 - so yeah I guess I’m a begginer in terms of lifting heavy. Compared to the time some guys have been lifting 3 years is pretty insignificant but I thought I’d have at least a bit of an idea about how my body responds. Maybe not though. It’s forums like this that kind of humble you about your own abilities.
Westside training can put on a ton of muscle if set up right.
Ws4sb (basically beginner’s westside) type training where you ramp up over 10 sets in the 3-5 rep range can be very beneficial

I’m 16, is it possible that my age could influence me getting injured doing lots of 1rm’s?
No, otherwise I’d be dead by now lol
you show me one bodybuilder that does the majority of his training in low rep ranges. I doubt you will find any. I have seen Ronnie Train online, in his videos. He does 8-12 reps per set. from what i saw. Sure, sometimes, he might do low reps, for whatever reason. But im sure, 98% of his training as is with all other pros or any really big dude, they train in higher reps.
Skip la Cour did 4-6 reps only for his bodybuilding training. This might be a genetic freak example as most bodybuilders don’t bench press anywhere close to 500 lbs at competition weight like he did.
He strictly did Max-OT, written by Paul Cribb (could be considered a top guy) which on states 4-6 reps for 7-9 sets with a 5 day split.

He is fucking trolling.
I’m aware but its still fun to disprove him only to have him continue on with his charade as he always seem to do. Sometimes his responses get pretty entertaining because his “I’m never wrong” mentality.
