One Plate, Two Plate, Three Plate, Four!

Aww! CG! Sorry to hear about the health troubles! But I’m glad you’ve got everything under control!

Sending positive vibes your way. Hang in there mama!

Turns out I have a blood clot! (it could also be something very wrong with my lymphatic system but they pretty much are ruling that out because none of my lymph nodes are enlarged at all) Apparently some people have an extra bone. He called it a rib but pointed to the collar bone area. I dont know the proper bone name but I think I know what he means.

Anyways, a vein runs over that bone and due to the extra bone its pretty tight fit for the vein. He says that my weight lifting makes everything even tighter in there (his theory) which really restricts this vein causing a build up of clot?

He is further supporting his theory because when he takes my hand and moves it up above my head and slightly back my pulse weakens which is showing the vein pinching? …

Of all things its bothersome to think of it as a training related problem.

Its not right for this kind of thing to happen. I dont mean to sound pasty but we all know you have an amazing inner strength that will help you pull through all this, and thats something the coke slammers and slackers dont have.

I thought I would paste in this video of my perfect deadlift form to cheer you up. Ha Ha

Aww Sweetie I’m super sorry to hear about that. I’m glad you got some good news, hope it just gets better.

I hear you though, we take care of ourselves to prevent these kinds of things, but don’t fret and don’t focus on negative things.

XOXO

Coyote: I’m thinking about you. Hope you’re doing better.

haha guns. i’ve seen a lot of bad deadlifts, but that is officially the worst i’ve ever seen.

thinking of you, too.

Awww thanks people!!!

Actually embarassed to admit but I have been sulking. I was bummed because the PL I had wanted to get into has been put on hold. And I was SOOOOO pumped with the direction I was taking.

BUT I do know that it will only be temporarily ( I am sure ) and sulking has never done anything for anyone before. AND I am still alive and well and able to move about wihtout hardship which is WAY better then some people have it. SO suck it up buttercup!!!

Here is what I have to work with~
I am not allowed to lift heavy right now, so I am trying to figure out how to make a good program that is based more on conditioning then lifting. lol and I dont know how…

So yeah…

Actually I want to some how tie in cardio, CF, plyos.

What cha all think?? How can I make it work?? I am going nutso here!!

Coyote, I’m sorry to hear about your current temporary limitations. I SO SYMPATHIZE with a bit of sulking.

Can you do bodyweight work like tabata-style mountain climbers/pushups/burpees…stuff like that? Maybe box jumps. Jump rope? Can you run sprints? Rucking with a weighted backpack? Conditioning work isn’t so bad, and will set you up nicely for a return to powerlifting. Go get 'em!

well you ought to be able to make it work without much issue.

here is a list of bw exercises, pick some you want to do.

bridging (various kinds)
pushups (endless possibilties here)
pullups or horizontal rows
squats & pistols
handstand pushups or pike pushups
burpees
jump rope
jumping jacks

just a few…
I have some awesome conditioning “ross” style workouts I will post some up for if you want them.

Coyote: You’ll be back to the heavy lifting again soon. I’m sure too. Conditioning work can be fun. It will get those endorphins going. Of course, because I’m a runner, I’m going to suggest running. Maybe a nice 6 week until your first 5k program. Gives you a discrete goal to train for and a little competition to train for.

Hang in there.

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas ladies!!

1 mile easy jog. Nothing fell off or exploded. Life is good

On thurs I went for an ultrasound of my abdomen. On Fri I got a call that due to the results I have a CT scan booked. Gotta wait till Tuesday when the office opens back up to ask why. Yay, lol! BUT this is good news in a way as I knew there was something off so now we get to find out what and how to fix it

coyote, that really sucks that they left you hanging like that over the weekend.

An easy jog was a great idea. I’m actually a bit jealous of that.

Your posi attitude radiates… No doubt ‘The best is yet to come.’ Vibing on good news Tues.

Just thought I’d pop in and say hello. I’m catching up on all the logs over this way. Hope you get some good news this week from all the medical stuff. It’s a bummer to be sooo passionate and excited and then have to stop. I feel for ya.

I feel ya on the sulkiness. I’ve had my sulky days for sure. But it looks like you are ready to pick up and keep going! That’s a winning attitude. I’m hoping for some good news for you!

Keep us posted on the scans.
I’m glad your jog went without incident. Once you can do some sprinting then you’ll be able to keep the lower half in condition. You’ll be back lifting heavy before you know it (and joints will likely appreciate the rest!)

yeah, i reckon you are justified in having a bit of a sulk. i’d be pretty crapped off too, if i was in your position. glad to hear that you are on the look out for stuff to do too, though.

i’m a big fan of prehab / rehab. is there any niggly little thing that might well magnify as the weights go up? any muscular imbalances that you know of? now could be the time to try and sort out some of that stuff.

standing balance? know it is a weird one. yoga pose type stuff. though i prefer to think of it in a martial arts ninja kind of way. it has some kind of coolness appeal to me, anyway.

Kimba~ It was a nice way to ease back in after 2 weeks off. 2 WEEKS! lol yikes  I feel mushy, HA

Print~ awww thanks for the vid!! You rock!!

Powerpuff~ thanks for stopping in!! I mostly think I was looking at it wrong, but pouting encourages that and wastes a whole lot of time and energy, lol!

Laststand~ thanks lady!!

Cal~ yeah I will add in sprints once I know for sure that running wont aggravate anything. If nothin hurts by the end of the week Imma gonna sprint my little hiney off

Alexus~ so funny you say that!! I was lying in bed thinking of that this morning!!!.. I have been wanting to bring up my hammies for sure and figured this would be a great time to do some lower weight higher rep movements which wont strain me either. Maybe I will post a pic of myself and ya’ll could pick me apart and help me decide what to try and build up

You totally have a great attitude despite this whirlwind health set-back that got thrust upon you. You go girl!

I don’t know if it would be acceptable to your docs, but how about German Volume Training. You could bring the percentages down to a level that wouldn’t create too much strain, but you would still hit your muscles hard w/all those reps. Because the rest periods are short, you get a great conditioning effect too.

Yoga could be something to consider too. I don’t know if you’ve ever done a vinyassa-based class, but moving through all of those postures can be really challenging. Also, it might help you stay calm and centered through this experience.

Good luck! I really admire your grace and strength despite all of this stuff.

This must have be scary!
Hope you are doing ok…

Thanks Veggie, you have some really good ideas! Thanks for sharing them!
mom~ thanks for stopping in and the well wishes
