One More for the Velocity Diet!

Hey, I suggest you get someone else to take those measurements! I presume you saw the hash I made of taking my own. If you can get someone who knows what they’re doing, it’s even better. Make a friend at the gym, dude!

Oh, another dumb thing I did was I got the cheapest scale. It was $22 and the others WITH THE BIG NUMBERS were $45 but I didn’t want a scale really, but for this diet so I didn’t want to spend the extra money. I just didn’t want to have to hump to the gym and weigh early Saturday mornings, before even brushing my teeth because a sip of water might make me gain two pounds or whatever.

Anyway, I got this lame-sauce cheap scale and the numbers are virtually illegible. See me kneeling on the floor squinching my face up, mere inches from the dial trying to make out the number du jour. grr!

Dude! Your “V” is showing! That’s hawt!

I messed up also and didn’t take measurements. I weighed myself and knew about my bf% but it would have been nice to have the exact numbers. That’s ok because your going to keep going and see even more results so do it now.

You’re 7 days into changing your life, there is only one option success! Nothing else exists!

We can all work together to help each other.
It was inspiring for me to watch Wakiki make it so we can all feed off of each other. It’s nice to know others are going thru the same thing, Tpepper, ZSebag and Gus to name a few.

Lets keep sharing to push each other!!
The area I notice most is on the front of my gut.
It stuck out.
Check out my pictures and you’ll see
one shot where my stomach sticks out
and that was when it was relaxed.
Then the shot of me one week later
and the difference is noticeable
again my stomach is relaxed.

The tape measure is for me the most
important thing. realizing it now, the scale
is almost pointless.
It really is about what you see in the mirror and
the measurements.
My weight by the way is 180

later on today the measurements will go up.

Love seeing the pictures everyones is posting.
Showing how fast changes can be made.

Just a side note, my skin is clearing up and my eyes look more
clear… Whatever!!..just goes to show how polluted my diet was.
Another reason I havent yet showed my back.
But its clearing up pretty fast.
Pictures will be coming soon!!

Here are the numbers:
calves 15"
Thigh 24 1/2"
Hips 38 1/2"
Waist 37"
Stomach 39"
Above the stomach 35"
Chest 39 1/2"
Neck 15
Biceps 14"
Bicep flex 15"
Forearms 12 1/2"

weight 178.5
29% body fat
which I am finding hard to believe from
the scale.
But I’ll put it down.
It said yesterday I was at 180.
who knows??!!

Hi,

a simple and reliable self-measure for body fat is to measure exactly midway between the point of the shoulder and the elbow.

First, take the measurement with the arm completely lax and hanging at the side.

Next, take the measurement in the same place but flexing the bicep as hard as you can!

make a note of the differential. You want to see it increase week by week indicating improved body composition.

1/2" = fair
1" = good
1 1/2" = quite lean
2" = superior studlihood

the reason? you can’t flex fat!

You got my interest so I tried it and got 1"

Thanks Doc!!

Here is another shot,
I like the vanishing act of my stomach.
I want that 6 pack in 3 weeks.
But that might be a tall order,
we’ll see.

Looking good - keep it up!

Hey, I’ve been away all day. How did it go today?

Did you work out? Are you following a workout program?

Ive weighed myself today and the scale is reading
174.5 lbs. Since Saturday the weight loss is 5.5 lbs.
in 4 days.
The thing that is surprising is the energy level
is fine. I dont feel tired.
Another thing is that I think I’m adding
Muscle. Of course I’m finding it hard to believe,
you have to be loosing muscle if you’re on a restrictive
calorie regiment.
Yet with the high dosage of protein taken… I think
that I’m actually building.

I must take into account that my body was living
of a high calorie heavy carb diet. There was little
room left for protein and little room for muslce growth.

I’m taking in at least triple the amount of protein.

To have possible growth with heavy weight loss.

I’m intrigued.

That’s great news!

Keep tabs on the arm differential. If the lax arm measurement is going down while the flex measurement increases, you’re gaining muscle and losing fat.

The other money measurement is the chest/waist differential. You want to see that number get larger week-to-week.

These are very simple measurements that tell the tale of your body composition.

When’s your regular meausure/weigh/eat HSM day? Saturday?

How does it feel in a world without carbs? Can you believe you used to eat that stuff and love it so much? Do you still get cravings?

Did you eat a lot of processed foods?

As always thanks for the info. They have been helpfull.

I feel better with little carbs just for the fact that heavy eating has been such a staple for too long. The body needed the challange to spark some growth.

I’m settled in with eating this program.
Its disipline to follow the diet,
but each day is a little easier.

Cravings ? Not so much but the shakes can get tiring
and you just want something different.
I’ll need to do some variations.
like the muffins or adding coffee to the blend etc…

Another factor, is the forum and being able to communicate.
Its has helped keep perspective.

So are you ready for your Maxum photo shoot on feb 8th?

Its hard enough to take the shot now that the world is seeing it i’ll have no excuses to “NOT” follow through.
I’ve waited long enough!
Its mine now!!
I’ll have weekly post with pictures.[/quote]

The avatar is one week later. January 19th
Green tea is keeping today sane!!
They did say 2nd week is challanging. I just want to
ride out the rest of the week and get over the hump.

Yesterday last night I was hitting a wall.
I bonked out and felt fatigued.
I felt the craving to elevate my blood sugar so
I made up some Surge and felt better afterwards.
Those calories will have to be added to todays count
if I am going to maintain the numbers.

I was curious about my waist size and have lost
1 1/2" around the stomach since Sunday the 20th.
I am looking forward to comparing weight, measurements and
photos to see the difference.
That will be this Saturday the 26th

Its all part of the process and about progress!

Hey pal, hows it going? been looking through your thread for a while and wanted to say, your doing a great job, definate improvements from 1st pics to latest. ive actually just started my own clinic (becoming cliche i know). its a Berardi get shredded influenced diet. you should stop by.

keep it up!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I need my daily hit on what size I am today!!

You know how guys are hung up on how big we are

and the story when a guy has big hands
and feet means??

Thats right!!!

Big Shoes and Big Gloves!

I’m glad to read it’s not such a struggle for you. You must have been well-prepared mentally. What was it that finally made you put the order in?

The few cravings I had have all but disappeared. But I always play with the shake flavors, so maybe that helps. What variations have you tried so far? Any especially good ones?

The forum and threads have really made the difference! It’s so fun to have friends out there. Makes it more like a game. You all have been so great to me and it’s been fun checking on my friends and giving back support in kind.

Posting the pics and measurements and knowing people are going to be happy for you is one of the best parts.

photo shoot Feb 8? I’m not even thinking that far yet. But I’ll tell you before I tell anyone else that tomorrow’s pics are going to be…amazing.

and I can’t wait to see yours!

Good morning!
