I’ll probably pass you in airports this month. Vegas, Orlando, Salt Lake - all business trips. It’s going to be challenging finding places to get a workout in. Almost guaranteed 5lb weight gain in the process.

Work has been kicking my ass. I’ve been on the road for the better part of 3 weeks.
Workout summary:
Early March: On the road, Colorado: Good chest/tri workout. Good Back workout, but back spasmed after, so spent a week waiting for that to go away. No disc issue, just muscular.
Mid March: On the road near Boston (driving distance). Three days, no gym in site. Not even a dumbbell in the hotel ‘fitness center’.
This week: Excellent chest, back, shoulder, and arm days. Not as heavy, but will quickly ramp up. No weights worth mentioning. Back is feeling good. Need a good leg day to test loading the lower back.
This upcoming week: On the road near Charlotte. Still scoping out for a gym.
Wife’s about to pop with the kid. Hopefully she won’t go early while I’m on the road…

So, this week was at a customer site about 40 min south of Charlotte, NC.
The hotel I stayed at is right next to a gym, and as it turns out has an agreement that hotel guests can go there for FREE!!
The owner was a world competitor powerlifter in the 80’s, did some bodybuilding, then later was crippled in an auto accident. His pics, clippings, and magazine covers are all over the gym as well as some powerlifters and bodybuilders who either trained there or are from the area. Couple female olympia contenders (I forget names).
My goal was 4 workouts. Got 3 with one ‘cardio’ day. All workouts were at 5am. I decided to go with cardio the last day because it was a shoulder day and I didn’t like the set up there for shoulders, so I saved that for today (back home).
I managed to go through 2 pounds of whey protein in 4 days!! I didn’t want to carry it on the plane and I didn’t want to waste it, so it was several 60-70 gram shakes throughout the day for 4 days. My customers all think I’m nuts.
Good BBQ (I LOVE my N.C. customers because of the local BBQ I get). Did a brew pub one night (“Hops”). Had an awesome 12oz Jamaican marinated steak done perfectly.
Have to travel AGAIN next week in Texas, so scoping out gyms. It’s a gamble with the baby due. I’m going to have to say ‘No’ to any travel late April/Early May…

Hey fellow old-farts! Long timey, no updaty!
Past several weeks have been a BITCH with work, travel, life, etc. I’ve managed to get to some gym somewhere at least 4 times a week, but just starting to get back on my regular split.
Between being onsite and hanging out in airports with just not enough food, I’ve managed to drop around 10-15 pounds. I won’t admit that I have a little more definition because I feel TINY. Strength is down just slightly, so I restarted my bench, rackpull, and squat cycles from about 6-8 weeks ago.
Only lifts of note in the past week(s) or so:
bench down slightly. Relative max tomorrow night.
Deadlifted for the first time in several months. Pulled a 455, PR. Ironically, rack pull was down today.
DB Shoulder pressed 110x6-- PR, but BTN smith presses are down about 3 reps.
Dip PR-- BWx20 but Smith Machine reverse grip presses are down about 4 reps.
So, I’m kind of all over the place, but shouldn’t take too long to get back on track as I’m not scheduled to travel (until baby is born… any day now) and I have access to FOOD.
In the meantime, my powerlifting gym closed, so I found another one which will be my new back day gym. It’s adequate (see current T-Cell thread “Training Environment: Pricelss”).
Haven’t been posting much at all but lurking here and everyone is just kicking ass-- nice work!
