Very big front squat indeed.
Thanks guys.
This morning (the day after), I feel like I did a thousand sit-ups yesterday. Crunches for core, my ass!! Front and Z-Squats, FTW!!
On an international note, I found yet a better verb for ‘squat’:
Acuclillarse: To squat, to crouch down.
Los Acuclillares! The squats!
Yo acuclillo!! I squat!
Tu acuclillas!! You squat!
Usted acuclillamos!!! We squat!

E: DB Farmers walk
2x100 x 1 lap (~250 feet. I’ll leave it as an exercise for the resident Canadians to convert to metric)
2x100 x .75 lap + .25 lap (didn’t make the full lap the 2nd time around)
[/quote]
How did your forearms feel? I’ve done these before. In fact I’ve competed strongman and done a farmers walk race. It’s always my grip that that goes but my fore arms are cramped and in agony almost to the point where I want to throw up. No other exercised does that to me.
My forearms feel like they’re on fire when I do those. Grip (ie hands) and forearms really feel it with those. When I use the FatGripz, I can only do about 1/2 the weight, but then it’s mostly just my grip giving out vs. feeling it more in the forearms.
Forgot to mention this–
Yesterday, after I was done squatting and putting my weights away, a woman who looked to be in her 50’s approached me and asked if I was a “Powerlifter”.
I said “Oh, maybe someday, I’m just trying to get stronger.”
She asked if I competed and I said maybe next year or so I might give it a go. She asked where they have meets and how do you train for them. So, I told her the couple gyms around that I knew of that specifically had coaches/teams/trainers for those (there are 3 or 4 in the whole state that I know of, and the closest one is about 40 minutes away where I go once in awhile).
She said she’d thought about it. She had gone through ‘some rough times’ a few years ago (I didn’t ask for more info) and started going to the gym to stay healthy and thought it would be fun just to see how much she could lift! I told her that all kinds of people compete in these meets-- men/women, big/small, young/old, black/white, doctors, lawyers, housewives, ‘regular people’, teens, etc. Not just big burly dudes.
I told her about this (and a few other) websites that had some good info, and that specifically, this place had a few women who lift more than anybody in the gym right now (as I was pointing around to the ‘dead cockroach bencher dude’).
I gave her some info to look up and told her to let me know if I could help in any way, especially if I was at the gym when she was there.
Pretty cool.

You can tell her about the APA Maine Iron Bash. Home - APA-WPA POWERLIFTING
It’s outdoors, so she shouldn’t have to pay to watch. I did it last year. I can’t remember how many people, but they were across the spectrum.
danjo-- thanks! I actually told her about this one. My plan is to compete in this one (raw) next year. You going to be there this year?
Great work SD…especially the laterals. Put a 50# db in each of my hands and they would be pinned to my sides!
Thanks LS! I’ve been avoiding them, but thought it’s time to move on. I actually got 5 with good form, then shut off like a lightswitch! LOL.

All at/near 225 bodyweight
18" Arms.
That is all, thank you.

Where are you on those right now?

Nice pulls! 500# is well within reach…
Nice pulling SD, I’d give a lot to pull that for reps.
Damn. I’d love to have 18" arms myself. Sadly, I’m hovering just above 16" now.
