One Arm Barbell Row Instead of Kroc Row?

Tried it with some straps, wont work, weights move around when doing such violent exercise like kroc rows.
Try a set of speaker magnets? Like off of a sub woofer.

These collars fit a one inch steel bar perfectly, http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-pack-1-1-16-Zinc-Shaft-Set-Collar-SC-106-SC17F-6L101/150530345236?_trksid=p2054897.c100204.m3164&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140407115239%26meid%3D39e3f43f59ef48aa979fc499bca2f44e%26pid%3D100204%26prg%3D20140407115239%26rk%3D19%26rkt%3D20%26sd%3D160515986967

Local metal supply should have one inch steel bar for sale, get 24 inches and your in business if you have std plates.

row with good form and your “28 rep kroc rows” will probably become 10 rep DB rows

Try adding Fat Gripz.

I cannot imagine that the TC is John Meadows. He has his own account here.

As for the question about grip strength, anything can benefit your grip strength as long as you are holding onto something heavy for a long period of time. There isn’t anything terribly magical about the kroc row in that regard. As with most things, give it a try and see. If it’s just a 100lb cap, I would seriously consider packing an Olympic DB handle in your gym bag and using that. You could work up to 150lbs pretty easily that way. I’ve use it in the past.

I like the one arm barbell row and the meadows row for sure though. Great movements.
I wanna train my grip with other muscles working at the same time, feels like gripping while doing movement is much harder than just gripping. As for the olympic dumbbell handle, they are pretty pricey too and can’t add weight to it for long.
If working your grip is the primary goal, get some fat gripz. I have some. They make a big difference in grip difficulty.

Go read Kroc’s article Kroc Rows 101. The amount of people referencing kroc’s 300lb for 13 as the proper way to do kroc rows is too damn high.

For a great example with some actual weight YouTube: Jim Wendler - Kroc Rows, 210x16.

Jim Wendler knows how to do the Kroc row better than Matt Kroczaleski?

Hey why not, it’s a possibility. Actually I posted that one because I haven’t found any videos of Kroczaleski doing them as he explains them and that video of Wendler is actually pretty close. There’s one where he explains it with a 50lb dumbbell, but that’s not very helpful.

I don’t think duct taping plates to dumbells is a reasonable solution especially for gyms that only go up to 100s. What about this?
I’ve seen people do this with an EZ bar. The shorter bar makes it easier to balance.

You’re talking about how he explains it in his book? Most of the videos I’ve seen of Kroc doing them seem to fit the bill.
