Once upon a Time in Mexico...

Great flick! Walking in I threw common sense, everything I knew about physics and reality in general out the window for about 2 hrs. I suggest you do the same. The main reason to see the movie???

Johnny Depp. He has the best character I’ve seen in a movie in a long time. Brilliantly acted. He’s hillariously funny, twisted and all round just fucked up. The epitome of cool.

It’s about as violent a movie as blade 2. Okay not quite. However the violence effects you much more. A few scenes were a big excessive. Good fun. It’s really late…me tired…post no make sense. Salma Hayek…holy shit!!!

Not one of you t-mites saw this flick. Not even Pat!!! Grrrrrrhhhhhh!!! Black rain cloud forms above head :stuck_out_tongue:

havent seen it, but if you want to see another great johnny depp film check out “donnie brasco.” my favorite movie ever.

I saw the trailer for this when I say “28 Days Later” and I was sure it was going to suck. The trailer was so bad we laughed out loud.

Now I’m reading all these great reviews. Hell, Roger Ebert liked it.

I saw it, and I agree Depp’s character made the movie (Second movie of the summer that he carried in my humble opinion.) Great movie. Hayek…WOW!

Dude, I’ve been too busy catching up on movies missed while they were in the theater. “Identity”, “Die Another Day”, “Equilibrium”, “Ringu”, “Spirited Away”. Just been on a DVD rental binge.

Next week, we’re checking out “Bubba Ho-Tep” (Bruce Campbell’s latest…sort of)…and maybe, I’ll catch this one. And I’d like to; it’s got Johnny Depp in it and he’s been oh so good lately.

Hey, have you checked out the new “Kill Bill” trailer? It’s not in Quicktime yet, but man: it looks Uber Cool.

Jim like I said if you take this movie seriously with respect to the laws of physics etc. then it will suck.

I still have to see Identity. Did you like it Pat? I did see the Kill Bill trailer. Looks neat in a querky sort of way. I think I’ll probably enjoy it. The only thing that pisses me off is that movie exec. decided to split it into two movies. Now I have to pay twice to see the whole thing? Come on now everyone say it with me: “Motherfuckers!!!” Thanks again.

Just came from the theatre. If this movie was supposed to be a sequel to Desperado, it failed miserably. Other than that, I found some things to be a little confusing, too long at some points, but overall a pretty good movie. Ohh, and officially Depp has become my favorite actor. The man is amazing at his job.

ArcaneCocaine: Nobody’s seen this flick …it just opened
you hoser, you! Well, not quite. You saw it, and the
fine people at http://www.rottentomatoes.com must
have seen it cuz they had a mess of reviews concerning
it! If you’re in need of a movie review (new or old)
check this site out - it’s most comprehensive site I’ve
yet come across. Many of its blistering reviews are from
the top critics in all the media. Ebert & Roper always
have fairly positive comments, and Rex Reed has yet to
give a good review. He says everything just about sucks.
And I’ve seen farrrrr too many movies lately that prove him
right - flicks that rate the “Ole Brown Mustache.” I’m
desperately seeking a movie that doesn’t suck! I will take
your word for it and try to see it this week.

BTW-Salma Hayek is in this flick; she’s a righteous babe
who provides me with ample stiffie! (Just thought I’d pass
that along.)

Absolutely frickin’ LOVED “Identity”. One of the funnest movies I’ve seen.

Actually blame the “Kill Bill, Volume 1” and “Volume 2” on Quentin. He realized part-way through production that this movie needed to be TWO movies. He had wanted only a 3-month separation between 1 and 2; while MIRAMAX wanted a whole year. They both compromised.

I’m happy about the fact that we get to see oodles of GREAT footage rather than have it all end up on the cutting room floor and seen later in the DVD as “deleted scenes”. I’d rather see it all up on the goddamn big screen.

Yeah, I saw it. Now can somebody please friggin’ explain the plot of this damn thing to me?!

Johnny Depp is cool in this movie. Other than that, the movie is pretty lame.

hey patricia, when yo catch bubba ho-tep, tell me what you think. i caught a trailer for it and wanna check it out, but dont know ANYONE who wants to see it or has even heard of it. plus Ash is a badass

It was Quinten eh? See I heard it was the exec. Oh well.

I just saw this movie yesterday as a Desperado I thought this movie was not what I expected. I few things I didn’t like about the movie one Salma Hayek’s role was done poorly (dream/flashback sequence), from the trailer I thought she had a larger role.

Another, thing I didn’t like is that they used Cheech Marin again and the other spainsh guy which were both killed in Desperado. Also, even though they had two diffrent actor playing the other two Mariachi. Didn’t they get killed in Desprado so how did they come back alive.

Although, Johnny Depp’s charecter was the best. (Despite that Johnny Depp is anti-American (he lives in France) he right now is one of the best actors I’ve seen. This is the only reason to go see this movie is Johnny Depp’s role.

I rate this movie a C or 2 stars.

Have fun at the movies.

Pat,
How was Ringu BTW??? I know it was remade into The Ring, but I have been meaning to see it just to see it. I heard that the two movies were pretty much the EXACT same thing. Kinda along the lines of Open Your Eyes and Vanilla Sky.

I wanted to see Once Upon A Time in Mexico this weekend, but money was tight. But it is nice to finally have some choices for movies. Lately, it has been slim pickins for “good” movies to see. Now I have to make time for OUT in M, Matchstick Men, and Cabin Fever. Speaking of which…did anyone see Cabin Fever.

Not to mention Underworld and Cold Creek Manor open this weekend. Jeez, I have some catching up to do!!! Anyone got $10 I can borrow??..haha

hayek show her tits again?

Tony:

Ringu was one of the most dissapointing flicks I’ve seen. I can’t believe I’m even saying this, but it looks like a H-Town remake actually kicked the pants off of the original.

The Ring just made some changes; albeit these changes were for the better. And The Ring was one of five remakes of Ringu. Yes, FIVE.

I’m seeing Once Upon a time this week for sure. Did anyone know that this movie was shot entirely in digital? Yup. And from what I’ve read, it looks beautiful.

Underworld may have to wait a week; have read a few underwhelming reviews. Cold Creek Manor will more than likely be seen - it looks creepy.

Another one I really want to see is Lost in Translation. Bill Murray (and Scarlett Johannsen) is just monumentally awesome in this flick. Kudos to Sophia Coppola (writer/director)!

Yeah it did look very good. Digital cool. As for underworld…did you check out my other thread where their asses are getting sued!!! Yes!!! I want Whitewolf to give them a serious asspounding!!!

Mdog nope she didn’t got to see Desperado for her tits Mdog.
