Once more with feeling

Lol. I guess that shows how much I like to talk! :joy::joy:

My wife and I often refer to this as The Puppy Dog Diet. Someone just put my food in a bowl and when it’s gone, it’s gone.

This is a great point and tells me I need to get my son to season more.

As the father of a 13 year old, I can see this difference in motion. Sometimes within the same hour. :+1:

I switched out my good mornings for RDLs. It was a good move. I like the stretch I got with the RDLs and to be honest I was just burnt on GMs. No weight on the sit-ups today. I can’t say the deadlifts felt easy today, but they went up much easier than I expected.

I have noticed a change in my daily life abilities over the past few months. Specifically the ease with which I can ascend stairs. I take the stairs in the parking garage at work (the elevator is terrifying and I’m 90% sure someone is going to die in that thing some day soon). I usually walk up about 4 flights every morning. It used to tucker me out at least a little and now I barely notice that I’ve gone up stairs. Not exactly mind blowing, but I had one of those “oh wow, the stairs don’t bother me” moments and I thought it was worth writing down. Lol

I’ve decided to give the morning fast a try for a little bit longer. I want to see if my theory is correct on my high sodium foods. I’m gonna stick with it for another week or two and see if it’s better with my food less seasoned.

I went way over my T-Nation time yesterday so I will attempt to be better today.
Happy Tuesday to you all!

Today is a good day.

@EmilyQ yeah, my husband said he was pretty sure that he was a poster who’s log he had read under a different name.

Yes. I noticed there were some harsh interactions.

Today is a good day.

The day this is absent from the log I’m going to assume means someone got shot with an AK.

There are other criteria, but that’s the main one.

NGL I was having a decently terrible day a while ago and hopped into Beth’s log and saw this and that her workout of the day was top tier, at which point I was like eh maybe my day isn’t as bad as it feels rn. Love seeing it each log entry!

I’m tired of trying to improve my nutrition. I’m gonna stop for a while. I’m not planning to go on a twinky binge or anything so no need for an intervention. I’m just gonna eat food and move on with my life.

Edit: Today is a good day. (Didn’t want anyone to think I’d gone all trigger happy today)

I did this awhile back (like several years ago) after being borderline disordered with my eating (also for several years), and I was shocked to find just how well it actually works: Not doing the twinky binge is key—and so it consistent effort in the gym—but if you’ve got a reasonable idea of how NOT to eat like an a-hole, this approach will carry you a long, LONG way.

There’s a time and a place for significantly more careful attention (and I’d argue there’s a time and a place for significantly less, as well), but I have a not-unfounded hope this will work well for you.

I think so too. I spend way to much time and energy on it, so it’s too disappointing when things don’t go the way I want. It will be nice to just eat what I know is good and leave it at that.

Preach. I like your experiment. It sounds like a breath of relief, but also makes my food OCD side twitch.
I can have food without it touching my scale first? I don’t know about that.
Hubby and I are going on a FODmap diet for a few weeks to figure out some gut things (hopefully). I’m also going to use it as an experiment in less seasoning, per the conversation we were having with Pwn in my log. Make food stand on its own more. Perhaps I can get my appetite back to a reasonable baseline.
All this too say, I am excited to see you free up mental space. Could be a great time for you to try seasoning reduction as well?

I actually started that at the beginning of the week. I think I’ve been over saturating my food with seasoning (mostly salt). I think it’s been accelerating my appetite. Either that, or the lifting is actually making me hungrier. Either way, I’m just burned out on thinking about it too much. I need a break. I’m 47 years old. I’m in fairly decent shape. I eat a fairly healthy diet. I do not now, nor have I ever had a perfect body. I’m never going to. I have a body that does all the things I want and need it to do. I think that has to be enough. I will continue to set and reach goals. I will continue to keep my body healthy and capable. I’m just going to back away from what is quickly becoming a food obsession.
