I think this everytime I workout. ![]()
But, it really wasn’t encouraged back then. Matter of fact, it was highly discouraged. It just chaps my ass our high school has female powerlifters now and we weren’t allowed in the weight room. ![]()
Well, here’s the first problem! ![]()
I don’t know how you morning folks do it. I could do it, but I’m not sure how long it’d last.
And the second. And I’m right there with you. Actually going on two nights of absolute garbage sleep. It’s actually just me tossing and turning and occasionally starting to drift off only to wake myself up somehow.
This is how I feel about people who lift after work. I can get a walk in, but once I’m home from work I’m feel so beat up that I don’t think I could manage an actual workout.
I also can’t stand having my workout loom over me all day. It’s just one more thing I have to do.
The solution is clear - work starts at about 11am but still ends at the same time. This would give me plenty of time to train and then work. I personally think the idea of working 1/3 of our lives is silly. And work takes up more time than that once you figure in getting ready and commuting to and from work.
I fear I couldn’t stay awake if I got up early to train. I did it many moons ago when I was in my second police academy, but that was short-lived. Now that I think about it, I was at the academy from 8-5 most days. As a teacher, I can get to the gym by 3:45 (or 3:20 if I just train at school) and still be done by 5 so my work day experience is a bit better than most.
Yeah. Even if it’s my day off I have to get it done early. Otherwise it’s an opportunity for me to find something else that “needs” to be done and bye bye workout.
Work seriously gets in the way of my life. Lol. I get up at 4, start work between 730 & 8 and am done between 4 & 430 then in bed by 8. Generally speaking, my workout gets me ready for the day. Today, not so much. Hopefully I will sleep better tonight.
If I workout in the evening it’s a guaranteed night of crappy sleep. Can’t fall asleep, can’t stay asleep. Just no.![]()
It’s morning or nothing for me too.
When I first began lifting I worked in screen printing. I had to get our presses going at 6:30am then we’d end up working over because a screen tore or some shit or someone needed a rush job.
I ended up joining a tennis club right next door that had a gym in it. I’d go there right after work at like 6pm. Basically the people who played tennis would walk on the treadmills at night and there was a handful of us who lifted in which they had a power rack. I got a warning when I first started deadlifting 315 for slamming the weights down to loud.
There was a lawyer there who would bounce 315-365 off his chest Monday wed and Friday.
Morning walk. I probably should have been doing complexes, but this is better than the nothing that I wanted to do.
I dunno—I mean, doing nothing always sounds better to me.

Nice job getting it done anyway!
With work taking up too much time, IT does not seem to make anything easier. Security is basically hidden and has made life miserable IMO. No one can be productive etc. I had to switch to IT because I saw how it was taking over and not only has it made it very hard to get in lifting due to learning all this shit but you are also sitting. At least when I was a printer I was lifting shit and moving around. I’m trying to be positive about it as this is how I discovered my training methods. I can get the best workout in, in only 10 minutes eg 100rep squat. So im just trying to think of it that way. Anyway that industry is beyond challenging and no wonder everyone is out of shape.
Yeah. It for sure makes it difficult to get the time in to lift. But I guess we do what we have to do.
Credit where credit is due- thats the one thing I like about near zero temps. I can cuddle up and sleep under a blanket.
. Once it gets above 20° or so, its back to sweating and trying to cool off.
Same here. I can count on one had the number of times I’ve put it off until later, and actually followed through.

My last working set was ugly. Meh. Such is life. I’m starting to notice that I’m usually in a meh kind of mood on my first week of each new cycle. I’m starting to think it is lining up with my other cycle. No way to be sure since I’ve been spayed but I’m ravenous and grumpy. Could be a cycle, could just be my personality. Lol. Either way, even with my devil may care attitude today, there is no denying that my bench has gotten stronger and I’m very proud of that. I might not win a transformation challenge, but I’ve scored a major victory for myself and that’s what matters most. I hope everyone is having a good week. If you aren’t, I hope it gets better for you.
Today is a good day.
I’ve been limiting my time here to an hour and a half on the weekdays and an hour and forty five minutes on the weekends. I think it’s been good for me. I feel like I’m getting more done. Plus I’m doing a better job of staying out of other threads. That’s a very good thing for me.
This caught me mid friday night doom scroll haha
This forum has been really good for me in so many ways, but pretty bad in others. I’ve enjoyed the time limit because it has made me reevaluate what my priorities are when I’m on. I’m having to be more intentional about which logs I follow and what I comment on. With limited time I have to choose conversations that matter to me or that bring me some level of joy. So I follow logs I like and spend the rest of my time reading about people’s food fuck ups and victories or looking at their adorable pets or seeing who is reading what. Only the good stuff.
Come on now! There must be more stimulating reading than this!
