OMG Did I Meet Jay Cutler?!?

i forgot that to professor x and most of people here in T-Nation if you aren’t weighting 200 pounds at least and can squat and deadlift 500lbs minimum you can not say “i lift weights”, i do idolize heavy lifters however i don’t like steroids,

i know i’m still not there, but at least in humble to admit it different from some people i see here in T-Nation, i still got a good way to go still 20lbs left to 200lbs and i respect who lift heavy, i have my opinion about steroids i don’t like it, and no i’m not envy about anyone who has more muscle than me, in fact i respect them, of course i know that today in bodybuilding you HAVE to take steroids to have a chance, but many here are with an attitude like:“oh look he is jealous because the guy has lot of muscle and he’s not, must be one of those that go on gym and look at bigger people and say ohh he must be on 'roids” it was just a fuckin’ comment, forget about it already ok?

Oh…boy, here we go.

And you kids spend too much time text- messaging each other that you forget how to write in complete sentences…with breaks…and periods.

Carry on.

“hey look steroid guy”?
Makes you wonder how someone (pencilneck) with that sort of ignorant attitude found this place to post his vacation pic…(He may fancy himself “King Metal”, but does not look like he lifts any)…

OK, you do know that it is an absolute undeniable fact that Jay Cutler ( and many, many others) is on steroids right? Do not come back with any insults about me, saying something about me being a weenie or a fatty or whatever, or jealous. Just stop worshipping and defending the ones who take steroids.
The way I see it, this isn’t about worshipping or defending anyone. In a context like this, comments like the one from the OP appear as an attempt to debase the achievements of others. Why would anyone come to a bodybuilding focused board on the internet and act as if taking steroids was the only or even the most significant aspect of professional bodybuilding?

No,you did not meet Jay Cutler. You may have been within twenty meters of him,or perhaps even closer, but that does not in any way come close to,or remotely qualify as,meeting him.
That would have required the exchange of communication.
Which if you had recognized him,and that was indeed him,I hope you would have had the good manners and common courtesy not to indulge in,as he was probably just having a nice day sightseeing…

stop putting words in my mouth man, i’m was not trying to debase anyone from efforts there and i DIDN’T SAID that in bodybuilding steroids takes the major role, i know how tough it is, and the hard work that is needed, i wasn’t trying to debase him, ohhh forget about it you guys aren’t even trying to listen.

You’re missing the point of aggravation. You’re like an elementary student trying to grade a college paper.

Yes Jay was in Japan…bulking! Apparently he would eat at least 3 people a day. It looks like he had his eyes on you but obviously changed his mind.

I’m putting words into your mouth? As a response to the post quoted above, I described what impression statements along the lines of your initial post make. Is it really some of us who aren’t trying to comprehend?

I love lifting weights, I have nothing against anyone who uses synthetic androgens and see nothing wrong with them. That being said to me and ninety nine percent of the population Jay Cutler and the guy in the photo be it him or not look like they use steroids. Big deal.

Nice. But his sister would have wanted you to kick his ass, and you missed an opportunity to do her a favor!

“hey look natural guy!”

Now, does everyone feel better?

Jeez, no kidding…the guy had a picture that he wanted to share with everyone.

Leave him alone…stick to the topic is it Jay or not??? What’s your opinion???

thanks man, at least someone here stick to the topic.

Why is considered debasing someone to mention that they use roids? It is part of the pro game to use roids, so why is it wrong to comment on this?

“hey look steroid guy”?

When you don’t look like you’ve ever touched a weight, you automaticaly denigrate anyone with muscle.

I just don’t get why a dipstick who would make a comment like that would THEN take a closer look at a picture of the guy later and suddenly say, “Oh my gawd, was that Jay Cutler?!”. So, if it wasn’t Jay Cutler, we can only assume that these are the types of comments made about every guy much bigger than he is whenever they walk by.

If you think anyone can get to Jay’s size without steroids you are very naive

If you think that was the point, you are as well.
No, I understand the point was you think whenever he sees someone with decent size he says it’s all due to steroids and implies they’re a cheater and don’t work for it. However, if you’re even debating if someone is

Jay Cutler or not then then it should be apparent they ARE on steroids. I don’t understand why people have to invent reasons to attack others for no real reason.

When someone said Jay Cutler, I thought they meant the pro quarterback, hahaha.

Mentioning that someone uses steroids or reducing a person to the label “steroid guy”? Maybe to make oneself feel better in spite of the lack of own progress?

I don’t know what the intention of the OP was and maybe the issue has been blown out of proportion a little. The fact remains that a certain type of posts is becoming rather common here lately - posts by people who have yet to put a decent effort into lifting but are quick to comment in an undifferentiated manner on the achievements of others who undisputedly have had success with their specific goals. At least at first sight, the initial post seems to fit perfectly into this category.

I think I understand now. Some people mention roids as a form of sour grapes because they haven’t had much success building their physique.

I think some people also mention roids because a lot of people are using them, especially with pro-level physiques, it is a given that these guys are using AAS.

The fact that they are using doesn’t diminish the hard work they have done to build their physiques, but I guess the average person thinks these guys just take drugs and magically transform their physiques with minimal effort.

Until the general public realizes that simply “taking steroids” does not guarantee anything there will be a popular perception that anyone with any appreciable mass is on the juice.

I have come across my share of people who used some sort of steroids but went about it haphazardly, instead of planning a proper cycle; failed to eat at a level befitting someone trying to gain mass, let alone someone taking steroids; and also failed to take advantage of the increase in recovery capacity.

So while many dedicated trainees know that steroids, while a major boost to someone with all other factors in place, are no magic bullet, there will remain this perception that an impressive physique must be the product of steroid usage.
