Olympic Deadlift vs SGHP?

Hey Coach. You know Amit Sapir, he has an article about the Olympic Deadlift. Now, how would this movement compare to the SGHP? Would it create the same “Power Look”? It would obviously not hit the rear delts as much, but do you think it’s better to isolate the rear delts with high volume to make them big? Also, could the olympic deadlift potentionaly replace the SGHP in your Layer System Program, i’m struggling with proper teqnuice on the SGHP.
Thanks man!
Ps love your new article about “Fat Shaming”

Of course, I trained him from the day he stopped olympic lifting right up to when he turned pro.

It’s not comparable at all. The olympic deadlift (what could be called a clean extension in olympic lifting terms) is a good movement, but it is nowhere near a high pull as far as building up the “yoke”. It’s even inferior as a traps exercise.

BUT a lot of people (especially those with a bodybuilding background) have a hard time with the SGHP technique and end up pulling more with the arms. For these guys the SGHP will not be super effective and could lead to injuries. In which case the olympic deadlift is a decent alternative. But a well executed SGHP is not in the same category.

Yeah okay. What about power shrugs, can they be a good alternative for the SGHP in The Layer System program as a means to develop the Yoke?

Also Chris: Will the Rear Delts be hit best with a movement like the SGHP or isolated doing Rear Delt Flies to develop Big, Round shoulders?
