LOL

Dude, Kai getting blown on stage and fucking grapefruits on camera is only him doing “whatever he had to do” because he lacked the discipline and drive to learn any real marketable skill set. He literally had to do “whatever he had to” because he had virtually nothing else to fall back on.

You make it sound like sticking your dick in fruit for other men to jack off to is somehow a noble feat when done for some reason of greater significance than feeding a drug habit. In reality, Kai didn’t do that shit because he was backed into a corner (“If I don’t do this, my dream dies…”), he simply wanted to take the easy way out by capitalizing on one of the basest human instincts (“Well, I’ll be humiliating myself and degrading my passion by becoming a complete caricature of every seedy aspect of the sport that disgusts people… but it’s easier than college and will let me continue living in the gym 14 hours per day”).

Do yourself a favor and stop embarrassing yourself by even hinting that Kai’s life is somehow as worthy of applause or admiration as the people who actually managed to achieve remarkable physiques while getting an education, a real job and splitting life’s ass open like an overripe grapefruit no matter what gets thrown at them. It’s ridiculous.
oh no! not the voice of reason!

Thank you for making this point better than i could.

Im sorry, but i fail to see how not being able to make money bodybuilding automatically equates to resorting to all kinds of strange homoerotica to scrape by. As if we should all say “nah its totally cool, its just what bodybuilders do.”

You don’t think those guys back in the 80’s were not doing all sorts of loony sexual shit? Come on now.

Bodybuilding will never EVER be mainstream…they physiques are just too ridiculously drugged up. It is really on the border of disgusting.

Give me Lee Labrada, Bob Paris, Mike Mentzer, Arnold, Columbu, Nubret ect. over these bloated pieces of shit.
Those guys were on a pretty fucking good amount of gear as well…
Perhaps…but they still were around 180-220 with tight waists. Not these bloated, heavy breathers that cannot keep their guts sucked in.

One thing that i notice about this preview and many offseason videos of these guys guest posing is they just look out of shape. Bloated, ugly aesthetics, and in general just unhealthy.

I love the sport, but i agree that all the best physiques are behind us.

I mean what did you expect? This was destined to be the natural progression of the sport, guys coming in Bigger and leaner.

I’m gonna change the topic here and talk about Branch Warren’s legs. He is my all time favorite bb and has always had huge legs. In that video though they look really tiny… wtf? was it just the angle of the camera or did he hurt himself. Cause honestly that is the thing that struck me as the most obvious thing from the vid

Wow. I feel embarrassed.

I’m wrong about all of it. Fuck him huh? He’s a loser. Fag. He’s a gay. He’s accomplished nothing. Cheers to the bro’s out there w/ four yr degrees working a 9-5 and getting swole despite the daily grind.

Fuck that, he’s inspiring to me, he could suck a whole bag of dicks and it does not change my opinion. Did he fuck a kid in the ass, steal from your house, assault someone???

He went from living in a group home unable to read w/ no parents to not being a complete fucking waste.

I ran worked in and ran group homes in the city, in NY. most kids in that setting struggle to save their own lives, w/out proper mentoring and fucking LUCK and hard work most end up in jail. So yeah, I admire his accomplishments…he made something great of his life.

He’s not a rocket scientist, a doctor, or a humanitarian…but he sure as fuck motivates people to try and push and hope.

I Train because i love it, the gym is my place, my church, my time for me…I don’t want to be an Olympian but the sound of the weights clanging, the feeling it gives me, I love it.

I love my dead gay son - obscure Heathers quote for no reason.

I’m embarrassed to be such a fan of Kai. I need to look up to better sports role models. If you watch too many Kai vids it might make you apt to go suck a dick or turn homo.

This thread is so fucked.

Roden looked kinda bla…Branch is done, not sure about how jay will do, and i’m sorry but phil just looks boring physically. he is the type of guy who needs to be 100% shredded to look appealing. Wolf looked impressive off season.

**** clarifying - agree saying “BB suck dick for cash, it’s what they do.” this is bullshit. commending someone for that choice is lame, agreed
my point is about what the mother fucker has become. Sure i could have worked @ dairy queen. hehehe see i said dairy queen. but he didn’t.

he is an amazing coach, mentor, guru. he took himself from shit to castle. for that he is to be admired,. he stays hungry and driven, i admire that as well. he is a creative thinking guy, that is something I dig and strive to also be. i just identify w/ him and like him for "what makes him - him, more so than i admire guys like phil and jay.

now, that said, jay did his thing, boring as hell, he is a business man, i respect that.

way to entirely miss the point…

Ronnie coleman went to college, got a degree and supported himself through being a cop… and there are many other examples like him…

there is nothing wrong with getting your dick sucked… shit… id let a guy blow me for a few g’s… hgh gets expensive!

no one is saying there is anything wrong with what he did… we are all just saying that he will never be the face of bodybuilding because of what he did…which is unfortunate because he is basically the best there is out there (excited to see what Ramy brings this year) and we are disagreeing with those who made it sound like he “had no choice” when… well… this is America, the land of opportunity… so…

I tried my best to put it in really simple terms for you…

awesome, just awesome

…so many fucking pussies all obsessed with the “golden age” of body building. They were on stage, small, flat, and many with waists which weren’t much smaller than today’s pros. Arnold especially, is one of the most overrated douches to ever exist in the sport, and for some reason seems to be the one who is idolized most.

I’m not sure what the obsession with the “golden age” is, I don’t understand it, in the say way I can’t understand religion, probably something I’ll never get. Is it cuz of fear? Crying because in order to look that way you have to push the limits of pharmacology, training and nutrition?

I have all this built up animosity only because it seems there is an equal amount of anger towards today’s pros for being to big or too blah blah blah, it also seems that people with the shittiest development (personally) are the ones who are so obsessed with glorifying the past and the less impressive pro’s of that time.

Kai for president.

No, but seriously, I don’t care if he split an apple in half with his dick.
His physique is fucking crazy! He shadowed out everyone on that stage!
I agree with Cyrus, and I respect Kai for what he has become. But unfortunately we aren’t the judges and as we all know politics plays a large role in who wins today.

On the other side of the argument just because I say I respect what Kai has done (as people in a situation like that usually end up in jail) it doesn’t mean I don’t respect the other guys like Erik Fankhouser who juggle a full time job with a family and bodybuilding (just an example, I respect all bodybuilders, as it takes a serious amount of full-time dedication to be where they are)

So while I wish Kai would win, it most likely won’t happen.

Its a matter of personal preference, whats so hard to understand about that?

I cant speak for everyone, but in my opinion aesthetics have taken a back seat to sheer mass and conditioning, and thats what i dont like about it, specifically the Olympia.

To clarify, all modern bodybuilding is not so unappealing to me (unappealing is used relatively here, as i still follow and enjoy the Olympia). I think guys like Antoine and Aaron Clark look phenomenal, but its unfortunate to think that they too may one day become these bloated mass monsters that fill up the Olympa top 6. At the end of the day these guys impress me, but i wouldnt want to look like them, and i dont think they look good, and in normal, everyday clothes/situations, they just look silly.

Guys like Arnold and Zane struck a nice balance between having a muscular physique that most guys would be envious of, and that most chicks would leave their boyfriends for. I think few people who arent serious bodybuilders envy Phil heath’s physique and even fewer gals are turned on by it.

Even guys like Yates, Levrone and Flex all had this kind of mass, and all had better aesthetics and more interesting physiques. For me, that was the true golden era, and its over now.

I can set that up for you if you dont mind paying a finders fee…

Quick point on the video and Kai, is it me or is it that he just was already pretty close to condition and easily the leanest and less bloated on stage making him look so dramatically different? And the fact that he is so dark that it dimmed the lights in the room.

I wouldnt say “close” to condition, but he seemed to be of the better conditioned on stage for sure, AND the biggest. However, if he doesnt put it all together on game night it doesnt mean shit.

I couldn’t agree more with you, imo the 90’s was the true “golden era”

- YouTube, remember the days where all competitors came in condition?

The post after my last on was removed apparently, likely for language and tone. I arrived home late after a long fucking day and perhaps my own preconceived opinions on the matter coupled w/ the quickness w/ which i read through caused me to miss the point somewhere.

I see they “why he will never win past” and to that I still say - bullshit.

They are all on drugs so the whole point of higher ground is fucked from jump street in terms of a middle america broad spectrum POV.

My points based on how he looks #1, how he carries himself and endorses the sport NOW, and just his overall impact on the craft he loves - he’s a teacher and an artist both in and out of the gym.

As for the crybaby comment - don’t post as much on this site as use to. + side of forum: many contest prep dialog, rattletrap (can’t remember your avi name) i’ve been checking your thread, good stuff, hope adding the carbs back in helps. down side - i do read many beginner posts that would be better suited in a section other than here. that being said, when i started at 147lbs…many bigger and more experienced folks helped me to get growin’. shit I thought my forever ceiling was 187lbs…if not for some thoughtful insights on ways to bump cals. I might have stayed sub 200lbs forever.

I gave up on getting huge…at age 39 i’m working towards quality at this point.
