Okay, Phil sent back, now it’s Kai, Dex, Rhoden and Wolf. Is Phil that clearly ahead? Is Kai better than Rhoden? Can Dex slide into 4th beating Wolf in arguably his best condition in years?

Wolf looks the best proportioned to me here. He is dry as hell too.
ugh, getting some sleep, alarm’s going off in 6 hours.

i simply don’t think phil just won hands down…( did when he came out alone but not in the group…)
hmmm…wolf and rhoden - kai you dooouuuccchhheee just be peeled, remember dirty diana you fucker…
rolley and ced needed a better look…
alarm in 4hrs!
Agreed. Roelly at least deserved to be in that comparison.
Guess Phil wins number 3.

I don’t usually follow the Women’s bodybuilding, but I know Iris Kyle is going for a record number of wins this year, and after seeing a few shots from the prejudging, I think she may have a little trouble on her hands. I’m not sure of the other woman’s name, but the pics I’ve seen are just crazy.

That’s Alina Popa…
i would easily marry her.

kai

phil
Kai has him on bicep peak, but Phils shoulders and upper back - wow

Phil’s legs are up… dangerous!
And Jays are down!his right quad looks smaller than his left…
If Wolf gets the 3rd spot I will genuinely cry tears of joy lol.
Dex and Wolf top 6. I must have a crystal ball. A lot can happen today though.
Phil has Kai beat, I think. Better separation in his lower body, better conditioning, smaller waist, better shoulders.
Also, hoo, Ramy is smooth and blocky.
EDIT: Just watched again. Ramy not as smooth as I thought, but his conditioning wasn’t as good as it should have been given the hype. Dude is huge though.
man, watching jay up there made me pretty sad. dudes chest looks terrible and his legs are down fairly significantly… was pulling for him too.
Never thought branch had a good bodybuilding physique but love the way he and johnny train, but he looked like he did at a guest posing i saw him at early in the summer. damn
On the positive side holy shit the wolf looked crazy dry and his back has improved, only looks weak against kai’s lats that insert by his damn hips. Rhoden looks good too, traps and delts are strong points
God, Branch looked like hell. What happened?
My humble take on last night:
Looking through the pics this morning and re-watching the pre-judging, I thought Wolf indeed looked like the best he has ever been. His “high lat” issues were not evident; his overall balance, mass, and proportion (other than the calves) were superb. And he is conditioned! As much as Kai has been given alot of pub lately, in my opinion Wolf should be 2nd if he keeps the shape and conditioning into tonight’s final.
Phil was on the money. To me, he looks a little awkward with his genetically un-gifted pec shape, but he sure did everything possible to make what he had been given as swole as possible. He was very dry, full, small waist…I can now see (just from the prejudging) why the judges believe he could win. But I really wanted to see a callout between Kai, Wolf, and Phil. I was not happy last night that the judges basically “gave it to him” without at least one more comparison. But props must be given to him; he didn’t come to play, he put his work in and it showed.
On second look, Jay was conditioned. My 1st impression last night was that he was not, but that was due to seeing the amazing condition of Wolf and others before him…i.e. the conditioning did not stand out. Though Jay tried to bring his waist size down, the combo of genetically wide waist and much less mass in his upper body and legs results in a serious boxy look. There was no aesthetic lines to be seen anywhere. I am sort of disappointed, as I was rooting for the guy. On the bodybuilding boards, there are alot of folks who thing Jay’s time is up, and I will tend to agree here. However, the notion that Jay can’t get back some of the mass he had (receptor burnout, whatever) I think is false. He’s only been back training for a relatively short time…with another year, I’m positive he can get back some of his legendary look, at least bulk wise.
Jay’s arms and back were especially poor. Especially in the comparisons where the others muscles stood out and popped when they posed.
Then there is Lionnel…who got it together. If he was a tad bit tighter, he would be in the mix. And by tighter, I mean some more dryness and graininess…something I do not think he can ever achieve unfortunately. But what a phenominal shape and combo of size, aesthetics, and cuts. Amazing physique.
Finally, I’ve always been a huge fan of Roelly Winklaar. His muscle bellies in his arms and shoulder can compete head to head with Heath in my opinion. And he looks WAY better full instead of the emaciated conditioned look Grandma got him in. On 2nd look (after being blown away by how he looked last night), he is a little soft when compared with the top competitors. I like Roelly’s overall muscle shape better than many of the competitors, but the conditioning is just not as sharp. Last night I was thinking he should be in the top 5…on 2nd look (and keeping my fanboyism down as much as I can), the highest he should be is 6th. I think because the judges and the IFBB will try to cushion the blow to Jay, Roelly will be given 7th or 8th.
Shot of Ramy, Roelly, and Jay.
I couldn’t believe how Roelly was hangin’ with both (especially Ramy…but it could be the angle). In this pic, I have Roelly winning, but this is the pic tha also shows how soft looking Roelly appeared to me when compared to the top guys.
