Hi. If I wanted to add snatches and cleans to my routine, would they be considered assurance lifts? If so, for which days? Thanks.
I’m not Jim but I find doing Snatches before Back Squats and Cleans before Deadlifts tend to work very well.
Snatches and Cleans are not assistance.

In my experience, Jim’s principle is helpful: if you’re adding a lift/goal to the mix, it will be at the expense of another.
For example, I’ve added snatch grip high pulls to one of my days, but it took the place of another compound back exercise and even sort of became my “finisher”.
Snatches/Cleans are done prior to the other lifts - generally snatches prior to press/bench and cleans prior to squats/deads.
You add something, you take something out.
