Holy cow, 30 lbs. Awesome. Pumped for you because I know how tough it is. Still on the Medifast diet plan?

Thanks Steve,

This is my last week on it, so I’m transitioning, adding back some protein. I’m going to try carb backloading for a while, see if I can get some strength back without putting on pounds.

Medifast works if you can stay on it, but its really hard to stay on. I lost 22 lbs the first month and only 8 the second month. I think if someone has a lot of lard to lose like me, it makes sense, but I think you should only do it in 1 month blocks, when its most effective. I may go back to it after some months.

My energy level was very low, and I gave up lifting and kettlebells 3weeks in. Now that I’m adding in more protein, I feel energized, and I can’t wait to get back in the game.

1 pood, breating ladder of 9, so 81 reps. you’re supposed to take as many breaths as you do swings at each part of the ladder. On the way back down, at 6 reps, I took ALOT more than 6 breaths.

hammiez iz killing me

Great work on the weight loss, MJ, that’s awesome. I am curious about the carb back loading, so I’ll be following along for sure. Please keep us posted.

started off too hard, hamstrings seriously DOMSed. found a tall building, walked up the stairs until my legs shook. I predict not hurting so bad tomorrow (pleezpleezpleez).

thanks Jack. I won’t actually start backloading for a couple weeks, I’m doing more of a carb-nite thing. some birthdays are approaching, and I have serious food debauchery planned.

congrats on the weight loss buddy

Thanks Pete.

squatted some doubles at 95, 135, 155, just to get the feel. this was a couple days ago. my bad knee is the size of a basketball, and hurts like hell. Before I stopped lifting, my knee hadn’t bothered me for a long time.

getting old sucks

today benched 5x 95/105/115.

Again, trying to take it real slow and get back into the habit. Too bad they don’t make a pill for falling apart

That’s just Death chipping away a little bit of you every day. Does that make you feel any better?

Steve, I think that’s the most accurate thing I’ve ever heard.

also, SportKilts are expensive. If you want to go cheap your first time around, check out the econo-kilts at Stillwaterkilts.com they’re acrylic, and not very nice, but only $30 or so.

I may have been drunk when I said that.

It’s going to be a year or so if I do a HG. Harry has given me a bunch of great info but I’ll be asking a lot of questions. Hope you don’t mind.

been not training, really, single-leg rehab kind of stuffs.

benched today, 6x 45/95/115/135, 5x155, 3x175
rows 135x 5/6/5/5/4/3

being weak sucks. i recommend against it. getting back to it after a long layoff truly blows

did single-leg RDL for low reps with pathetically light weight.

followed by single leg bulgarian squats or whatever to not very low pad for 3x6 on each leg.

meh

I’m glad you are back at it. Coming back definitely sucks balls, but it sure beats the hell out of not coming back. I can attest to this fact from personal experience. Just keep it up and before you know it it won’t suck balls and you will be kicking ass and taking names.

Jack

Thanks Jack!

so, I snuck in a super quick session yesternight. supersetted military press and pull up negatives (too fat to pull up)

militaries
6x 45/65/85/95/105/115/125
did the following between each set:
waddled my fat as up into the top of the pull up position and resisted gravity as long as I could. which wasn’t very long towards the end.

Good to see you back at it. The good thing about coming back is that the gains come fast!

Hi Snap! Thanks!

You’re right. My bench should be picking up about 50lbs a week for the next 2 weeks!

tonight. rehab consisting of single leg RDL from a box due to bad mobility and stability and crippledness and old and weak
