most unpopular thread finally gave up is ghost, and I get to start over.

To answer Pete’s question about “why under 130 BPM heartrate”. the easy answer is “cuz shelby starnes said so”, since I am trying to do his very low carbohydrate diet.

i was gonna drag my sled on sat morning before work, but it was raining, so I went to work early and climbed the stairs. its a 4 story building, so I figured I should be able to get 30 minutes in. i was going nice and slow, trying to keep under 130 bpm, and when I hit the 3d flight of stairs on the 3d trip, my knee said “fuck no” and started burning. as i have frequently bitched about, my lateral miniscus is pretty much worn away, so i had to stop.

Pete, I am going to try this “walking” thing you spoke of. I don’t have to bend my knees very much when I do it. maybe after I get used to this “walking”, i can carry something while I walk, and that will help me feel less feeble.

If my knees oblige, I will deadlift today. if they don’t, i will deadlift poorly.

I can go up stairs ok, my knees give out when I start to go down stairs. One thing you can try is “up the stairs” “down the elevator” …

not sure how long its been since I worked out. trying to keep it smart so I don’t cripple myself. did 6 sets of swings with the 1 pood kettlebell. 8 swings, supersetted with 10 second plank and hip stretch. Hip stretches took awhile, so intensity was light. I wanted to not cripple myself. Hope to do it again tonight.

did it again tonight

after rolling and stretching and rolling, I did 4 sets of 5 overhead squat with just the bar. Trying to work the flexibility while I get my adductors used to squatting again. Did the hip stretches between every set.

Then, got 5 sets of 8 swings/10 sec plank/more hip stretch.

Trying to be smart here. I won’t be able to do anything thurs or fri because of all my jobs, but saturday I will.

I am going to squat (1 way or another )every lifting day until I am healed. or dead.

here i is, the very pitcher of consistency. or something

got up early and swung like this:

7 sets of 8, supersetted with 10 second planks. god i’m pathetic

except on 2 sets, insted of planks, I did a turkish get up, first one side, then the other. I am pretty sure I looked something like a fat man being raped by an invisible elephant.

trying some new stuff, but it seems like whenever I post my plans, I can’t follow through on them. so, just so you know, trying some new stuff. hoping to swing some more tomorrow

rode the pipe
rode the ball

rode the pipe
rode the ball

too sore to swing yesterday. I was too sore to swing today, but I did it anyway:

8 sets of 8 swings with the pood, First 6 sets were supersetted with 15 sec planks, last 2 sets were supersetted with a getup. Getups are hard for me, so I will probably start adding more of these, so like only 4 sets of planks with longer times, and double the getup goodness. or something.

  1. not good, but better.

Interesting description…hahaha

still no lifting, but,

rode the pipe
rode the ball
stretched

5x 10 kb swings, supersetted with 3x 15 second planks and 1x kb getup each side.

thanks Rug, i’m just a bad typist i guess…

accidentally tripped over a kettlebell and swung it
after gratuitous pipe and ball

6x 10, sets interspersed with a couple 15s plans, a stretch, and some hard breathing.

getting the littlest shit done seems to take the greatest effort.

I am all about the little shit.
nice work

thanks kev,

this morning after some gratuitous ball and pipe, 7x10 swings interspersed with 20s planks, get-ups and hard breathing as follows:

swing-plank-swing-plank-swing-getup right-swing-getup left-swing-plank-swing-breathe hard and rest-swing

weight at 289

That looks like a rough circuit.

Hey Joe! It was rough for me, but not as rough as this mornings:
8x10 swings, 25 seconds on the planks, added “bent press” because some article on elitefts said it was good:

swing-plank-swing-plank-swing-get up left-swing-get up right-swing-plank-swing-plank-swing-bent press each side-swing

of course I wasn’t able to stitch it together seamlessly, and a minute or 2 was lost to ragged near-death breathing. But I think this is more about volume than intensity, so I want to just keep adding sets of swings until I am getting around 200 swings per day.

287, heading in the right direction. Hoping to get below 280 by turkeyday

Pipe and Ball!

then swings and 25 second planks and get ups and bent presses and just resting.

10/plank/10/plank/10/left getup/10/right getup/10/plank/10/plank/2 bent press each side/10/2 bent press each side/10/rest/10/rest/15

This took around 20 minutes, seemed like it shouldn’t have taken so long. 105 swings total

288, turkeyday goal not looking good, but i’ve been under 290 for 2 weeks, and for me, that’s purdy darn good. I’ll take what i can get when i can get it

Damn dude, that looks like work…20 minutes of that would have thinking…yeah, chess club, that’s my sport!
