well, I’ll tell you guys, I just had a great idea.
Maybe I’ll start getting up a little early in the morning. take a walk, I dunno, mile or so…
what do you guys think?
I’ve been thinking of startiing the same thing. Get a half hour of fasted walking in a few mornings a week. It would be good for old, large boned guys like us.
And stop being so hard on yourself. You don’t suck that bad.

do too
so i started doing kettlefag swings yesternight. i got a set of pull throughs, and figured, well, i’ll try and get some swings in, because its supposed to be all metabolic and shit.
I am using 1 “pood” which is 36 lbs. I did 100 swings, 4 sets of 25. I rested way too long between sets, but it was my first time. I asked some questions on a forum known for its kettlekwears, to get some advice. These guys swear by the fat burning benefit of tons of swings, so we’ll see. I think I will prolly need to work up to some serious weight though, as I don’t think swinging 36 lbs is going to get me very far.
feels like forever since i’ve lifted, but i swung the pood 60 times yesternight. my kettlefag buddies said that I should do sets of 10 with much less rest. I’m so out of shape and pathetic that this is hard. also did some kb snatches and clean/press, but again, 36 lbs? lame. need to get in shape so I can add some weight so i can get in shape and add some real weight.
now that the end of project psychosis and 18 hour days are done at work for awhile, I should be able to start lifting again soon.

I don’t see how anyone doing 18 hr days could be expected to lift consistently.
i think the kb is staying in. I couldn’t swing yesterday because my 60 the previous day kicked my ass. I think by doing sets of only 10, I had better form and more snap, which hit my midsection (front and back) more than my donk. Eventually I will do these every morning with some snatches and cleans thrown in for funsies, then lift weights in the evenings. We’ll see. I can’t even manage to wake up on time anymore.
so tonight i did a little dan john nutswinging. doing my little sets of 10 with my little tiny 36 lb kettlebell, I decided to do Push Up Position Planks between sets. The general rule on PUPPs is if you can’t do it for 2 minutes, you’re too fat. Well, I’m too fat. But we already knowed that. Even doing the PUPPs for 15 seconds had me shaking at the end. so, it went like this:
rest for like 5 minutes while I caught my breath. some really hard shit for an old fat guy.
swings, PUPP, swings
rested for another few minutes
swings PUPP swings.
so, got about 90 swings, and very little pupping. but it was good work, and kicked my ass. being out of shape sucks so bad that I’m not doing it any more

Dan John and Jim Wender. Can’t go wrong with those two. You’ve got me wanting to try the swing-plank superset.
i think the swing/plank superset is going to be the bulk of my conditioning for awhile. I need to weld up my prowler, and the welder I borrowed doesn’t work. that means having it done. which means cash. swing/plank is free…
