Hope you had a good holiday Mr Grumplestiltzkin. I hate being fat and broke down sometimes. But you’re correct that its fun figuring out how to fix it.

Why, yes, thank you, I had a very nice holiday. very much nicer than expected. And you?

Hey, just 99 more pounds and you can throw with me in the girl’s session.

Throwing healing vibes at you hip and knee right now.

The Rhodestown definition of girl is “under 200”. I think I would have to amputate a leg to get that light.
been doing some abductor/adductor work, and I think I overdid it. feeling crippled again. going to start doing more bodyweight/unweighted single leg hip junk. I have been really obsessing about throwing, even dream about it. maybe because I love the feel of my little plaid sundress.

Kind of like I long to wear a cup.

Not.

You are a funny man. Hang in there. I hope the aches and pains dissipate soon.

You mean the yes/no machine? Are men allowed on that?

The throwing part I can relate too. You on a yes/no machine in a sundress is a visual now burned into my psyche that I may never recover from.

Harry, that’s what therapy is for
Snap, why wouldn’t you want to wear a cup? Am I missing something?

Had another great weekend with the family. I am beginning to get this suspicion that they don’t hate me after all…

12/13/10 5/3/1 military/pulldowns(1) cycle 12

Military
150x 7
180x 1

Pulldown
270x 1

bbb cgbench
135x 10/10
145x 10
bbb barbell roze
135x 10/10
145x 10

Changing around the 2 day template a hair. I am doing 5/3/1 on the main accessory, then bbb for the main lifts of the previous week. so on bench day, I’ll do 5/3/1 barbell roze, then bbb for military and pulldowns. Since that’s a little more volume, I am working up to it slowly, that’s why I only got 3 sets instead of 5. Felt good today, good energy. Need to keep a close eye on the food though. I still want to lose a pound a week or so.

Lower body stuff will likey be weird. instead of the regular deadlift, I’ll be doing snatch grip deadlifts and oly squats. the oly squats will super strict on spine erectness, so I’ll be sacrificing depth at first.

when i did my rehab stuff last week, I decided to start working on oly lift flexibility, and after 10 minutes of work I finally hit parallel, even though I should be far past parallel. This is going to take some work. As soon as I feel like my rehab is done, I’ll start snatching and cleaning/jerking, and go back to the regular powerlifts

Not quite sure how to respond to this.

Good work John. How are the malfunctioning parts coming along?

snap- you’re not supposed to know how to respond to it. its a stupid joke, with emphasis on stupid. sorry. it sounded funny in my head when i said it to myself, but in retrospect, well, you know

Carl- they are coming along, just not fast enough. I was hoping to have done enough rehab in december to feel good about doing the oly lifts starting jan 1. But I haven’t been able to get into the gym as frequently as I’d hoped, so I’m probably 3-5 weeks behind where I’d hoped to be. need to start doing it at home. c’est la vie…

honeymoon’s over. family still hates me. fuck 'em

12/16/10 5/3/1 snatchgripdeadlift(1) cycle 12

didn’t really do any 5/3/1 this workout. wanted to do some work on the pchain and flexors, knowing that it would suck. did snatch-grip deads:

135x 10
155x 10
175x 8

tried to do some decline situps but they really irritated my hip so I quit. the snatch grips were awful. I am week and bloated. I am now in the market for some crochet needles.

I don’t know why but I get the feeling you would make a fantastic Department Store Father Christmas!!

I always laugh when I read your log.

Whether you intend it or not, you are a funny man. And having the ability to make people laugh is quite a gift.

Was the vid to mean? Good. Nothin wrong with the wide grip deads. Tryin to think up something that would inspire you. You just gonna have to work around your limitation. Stretch first, slap yourself around, come up with a pre-work out ritual. BTW, Rosie Grier did amazing needle point. (May be before a lot of you.)

“Tissue? crybaby!” I love that commercial. As an aside, that guy really was a Marine drill instructor, and he’s played one in a pile of great movies, including Boys from Company B and Full Metal Jacket.

you know me, Harry. crying out loud and stomping like a first grader gets it out of my system. I hate the fact that its going to take a lot longer than I had hoped to get back in and regain some strength. It is what it is, and I reserve the right to be a big pussy about it.

Snap. it is intentional. Sort of …

Brett. I don’t think I’d make a good santa. in my younger meaner days, I saw a kid going through the aisles of the supermarket saying “mommy, mommy”. I said hey kid, looking for your mom? he said yes. I said they killed her, check the frozen goods. That was nearly 30 years ago, and that poor kid is probably still in therapy. and I still feel guilty about it. so santa=no.

12/20/10, 5/3/1 bench(1) cycle 12
bench 245x 3
barbell rows 210x 5

bbb military 4x 10 at disturbingly low poundage
bbb pulldown 4 x 10 at even more embarassing lightness

did some warming up before hand, tried to work the hips, did some 1-leg glute bridges which appear to help the hip somewhat. tried to do some deep overhead squats with empty bar, against a wall trying to keep my back erect. I really suck at these and should punish myself with them every day.

My energy is pretty much back to normal, and I’m getting stronger. sadly, my weight is going back up too. some of it is surely muscle, but a lot of it is that i work for a company that makes a big deal out of xmas treats during the last 3 weeks of the year, and I have no resistance when it comes to free food

I drew up some plans to make a prowler. cost for the pipe is around $100. I don’t want to drop a bunch of cash then not use it, so i am going to start pushing my car. if I can be consistent for a month on that, I will give myself the gift of a pipe prowler. with wooden skids. it will be awesome.

be good harder,
0lder larder ass

good benching mj. Out of curiosity if the pipe is $100 isn’t that most of the cost of an econ prowler? Pushing the car is made of win though.

I drive a Linclon Town Car Signature Limited so I’d need help pushing that beast.

i have a subaru outback, so its light. but the emergency brake can be applied one click at a time.

the econo prowler goes for $269 plus shipping. I am guessing the shipping to be at least $50. it would have to be a pretty good sale.

besides, i fucking love making shit out of pipes!

I will be curious to see how this turns out. I would be wary about wooden skis though, wear out super fast.
