Meet venue,
Warm-up room was behind the lifting platform. Place was huge!
Pete here is my take on ZMA. When i sleep i sleep deeper and feel more rested. Nights I don’t sleep the ZMA doesn’t help me sleep if that makes sense?

Thanks for the info, I am taking something with similar effect. Last two nights I have crashed hard, where didn’t even stir until a.m. Rare for me.
Nice venue. Meet I did back in March was this enormous church, with a great big stage and large screen TVs all over the place, eletronic displays, etc, plus various food vendors, supplement companies etc.
What was really odd was the fact that a bunch of multiply freaks were squatting 1,000lb while Slayer, etc. was cranked, in a church.
And we had to keep reminding each other to watch our language.
German, I can’t wait to see the videos of you kicking butt and taking names at this meet.

Lol, i lifted in a lot of places but never a church! Sounds like you have a great venue, awesome.
Is the stuff you are taking helping you sleep or just helping you sleep deeper when you do?

I hear that!!! Works wonders doesn’t it
Squats today
Vid has 315/365/405/445/445/445
first at 445 had bar a little lower, second one higher, third one lower
Step-ups
135/2x5 E
Back ext
45/2x8
NIce squats, as usual. How do you find that they feel different based on bar positioning? Curious because I’m playing with this right now.

It is such a slight difference i am not sure other than the weight feels lighter with the bar a little lower, feels a bit heavier on my back with it higher. Also feels like i really have to fight to keep shoulders back and sit down in more of a straight line with bar higher. I am going to come back and look at vid in a bit and digest it some?
You can see where i hit the rack on the right side with 405, lol. Watching vid again i think the last rep at 445 with bar a hair lower was the best? Anyone have any thoughts?
Edit: BTW 194 this morning…yikes! Need a few days of pasta.
I’d be curious to see you do your bar tracking thing, because I thought your second rep was the “straightest”. Just picking nits though -w/o the grunting (watch it w/o sound) they all looked effortless.

Sure didn’t feel effortless…
I did track it and second was more down/up with out the drift back. I am thinking the third rep looked the best of the 3 but not sure what you guys/women think? I want to compare it to the 455 a few weeks ago, basically the same weight and see if this weeks looked better or not.
I find it humorous. Nit-picking the form of near perfection.
About bar positioning, when I can manage the bar low, the squat feels easier. Problem is that unracking, walking out, and general feeling of confidence are problematic for me when the bar is low. Just today my coach said that he didn’t think I had enough upper back to handle it lower. Sniff.

Well thanks snap.
What do you think? Do you think he is right? I remember a back pic (i think) and you were slight across the shoulders if i remember right? DOes the bar fell like it is going to drop off your back? Ohhh so many questions lol.

I am VERY slight in the upper back. Ridiculously so. Yes, the bar feels like it’s going to drop off my back when low. Plus, it really strains my shoulder to hold it low. Funny, because I probably am not tight when I carry it high, which is a no-no.

Yea, i think either was you got to be tight. With your shoulder issue you may end up being a high bar squatter for good. Anxious to see how your dead session goes this week!
Body weight is back to 196 today. Had fettuccine alfredo washed down with a shock top and 2 pints of ice cream. Not good calories, but did the trick.
I can tell it is meet week/taper (well 10 days). Getting really really edgy, emotional, pent up energy and really want to train but need to rest. And still over a week to go…ouch!
