Tried the ZMA last night and seems to have helped. Still woke up frequently but fell right back to sleep (usually doesn’t happen). Felt much more rested this am!
Interested to keep hearing how you like it. Right now my sleep is shit due to stress, might have to try the ZMA.
I’ll keep you posted. It either helped or i was so tired i just slept harder which happens every few days…lol. I’ll definitely know in the next few days which it was?
Hope your projects are going well in the basement.
Thanks. Basement sidelined until this weekend, been focusing on dealing with my mom’s situation for the last week. Time to shift focus back to my fucked up house, lol.

Lol.
I have been so lucky thus far with my parents but it’s hard living across the country from them when things do come up and i am an only child (aka spoiled brat haha). Luckily i have a HUGE family back there (ants. uncles, cousins etc)
Yeah, I moved back from Chicago about a decade ago when dad got sick. There are definitely times where I think it might be better to live further away:)

ZMA I take just one now, after reading peoples comments. The “bigger guys” taking it went down to 2 so 1 should be enough for me. Im sure to take on empty stomach because the dreams are really crazy otherwise. Not sure what causes that.
Good to know. I took 3 last night, it says 2. I tend to take the recommended livestock dosages though lol.

Yea i go back on forth on those feelings. There is a lot i do miss about the east in general though, west is a different place, no question on that. And coming from a large family who has been in the same small town since the 1800’s to a major city with no family is something I’ll probably never get used to. It’s the type of small town that people know you by your look, i was home in the spring and went to the post office. A women in her mid 80’s now looks at me and says your one of the ------ boys. Who’s son are you? LOL…that’s a small town.
Glad the meet work was fun- I used to do a lot in wrestling and judo-
Its hard cause I cant compete in that stuff- hard to let go I guess.
this log either has great training or some interesting talk.
I LOVE the band stretching good idea every time I try to stretch seriously
at home littlman jumps on my- which is great but means I don’t get to do it.
I am the Handy one in my family and do most of the stuff at Mom’s house
I’m sure that as she gets older I will do more and more and Im sure the siblings
planned it that way

Thanks Kev,
Today’s workout
BB complex (PC+PP,HSN,SQ,RDl,BO Row)
90 lbs 3x5 E
10 station care med ball workout
2xE 10 reps per exercise or 10 E side.
BTW tried a standing BB Rollout…NO WAY!!! But something to work on in the future. I saw some band hook ups that i think will help until i can actually do one!
Made it to meet venue # 2. A resort in San Diego, life is tough…lol. But seriously these guys run a national quality meet, my third time coming over to offer a hand and i pick up a few pointers each time. 95 lifters over the next 2 days, will gets lots of time in chair which i never get to do at the meets i run.
Also get to be around several nat and ipf cat II judges over the next few days so once again always picking up some knowledge! I’ll have to pull a few deads in warm-up room tomorrow for my workout after all the sessions are done but that should work out fine. I’ll also get to see a girl lift who i have been helping with her programming/training, she has been doing well so it will be great to see her compete. I’ll try to get some pics if i get a free moment.
Back home from the meet and had a great time! Meet was the state games of America and was a usapl meet.
Friday ran through 5 flights (2 were bench only) 55ish lifters and done in 6.5 hours so it went really smooth.
Lifter i have been helping with programming did well. 10 lb pr in the squat on second, cut third just a hair (dropped shoulders instead of hips) got 2 reds. Would have been a 25 lb pr definitelyly had strength to spare. Benched so so more do to attempt selection, made opener which tied pr and got a little greedy missed 2/3rd. Pulled a 25 lb pr with about 10lbs left in tank. She added just at 100 lbs tot total from this meet last year (state games) so i was very excited for her.
After meet i got my last pulls in before my meet (see vid)
455/5x1 missed 1 rep on vid
Rdl 225/3x6
step-ups 135/3x5E
Then lifter and her BF took me to ocean beach. Seemed like a little surf are lots of shops and bars etc. Had fish taco’s and a few cold ones a block away from beach, pretty cool.
Sat had 40 full meet lifters and done in 6 hours so again ran really well. Great experience as usual and really good to be around the ipf level judges and a high quality meet.
For me it’s time to get my hip right, still pinching. Got 2 weeks to freshen up and get ready.

good stuff with the meet. you pulling looks good too.
Thanks Pete, really need to take my Nat test next year but we’ll see. Pulls felt ok pull my hip is starting to worry me. Chiro tonight, massage tomorrow and some PT work between now and meet.
Got my home gym set up gonna give it a try today. I am fortunate to come across equipment and have been collecting for a while.
I have a 10x30 hay barn enclosed on 3 sides and i moved into the last bay plus about 1/4 of the next one. Front is open so doesn’t seem too cramped.
Platform is 8x10, bottom is 4x4 treated wood on 6" centers, second layer is 2x2 with 3/8" space between, top is 5/8" stall mats. Luck for me my neighbor works in some sort of shipping place and can get loads of treated lumber of 4x4 and 2x2 sizes. Buddy gave me stall mats so cost was a box of screws…
Sorinex power rack with 0-90 bench, commercial grade
Utility bench that is IPF dimensions for benching
Chains/bands
York plates (the old style)
texas power bar(used but good shape, keeping q training bar at work)
Camb bar
Olympic size db handles
Bumpers are on their way (about 2 weeks)
Eleiko oly bar (used but great shape)
Prowler/sled and dip rack
Have collection of other stuff but all in storage or used for running meets only. If i ever get a building i could set up 3 platforms for training…hmmm maybe for retirement lol.

sounds like a great home set up. once I get the basement finished I have to rewire, and insulate/drywall garage. that will be followed with finally setting up my gym:)
Farmer we have mild winters, will get chilly when it’s dark but will probably only use it on days off work or days i get home early. Eventually will have an enclosed building but not for a few years.
O i wasn’t able to handle her since i was working the meet. She is a 165er. Don’t remember opening squat, took 225 on second and it was almost too light for second, 242 on third and was more like a second attempt difficulty wise but dipped shoulders instead of sitting and cut it a hair high. (IPF judges on each side)
Bench 159 opener, went 176 and missed and got frazzled lol, probably should have gone 170 to get second in and some confidence
Dead don’t remember 1&2 pulled 347 on third, little bit to spare, def 352 probably 358.
Monday upper
Felt really good today, joints, strength, etc
Narrow bench
275/295/315/335/355 x1
355 flew, if i wasn’t so close to a meet i would have gone 375, but not being greedy at this point
Incline
185/205/225/245/265 x1
Pretty much the same as narrow bench
Tri ext
3x10
BB Row
135/185/205/225 x5
Also picked up a glute/ham yesterday off craigslist, it a home model but seemed sturdy enough and the adjustments fit what i need. Best of all it was 75$ and i am not sure it was really ever used.
Pete i put my index finger on the edge of the knurling.
Thanks Joe!
Funny thing was i was looking for a cheap back hyper, ya know maybe 40-50$ range. I opened this add and it was a glute ham listed as a back extension. Wanted 100$ but would take offer, so called and was going to offer 50$ but i didn’t want to be an ass so said 75$. Before i finished offer guy was like yes, i need it gone moving today and i thought shit…i should have said 50$ lol. It’s definitely not heavy duty but i think most are an overkill these days anyway.
