That is cool! I can only imagine what some of my lifts are like.

Also on the rollouts, have you tried the standing? I have no doubt you are strong enough and wonder why you arent doing them? Not that ID try right before meet but …have you?
I am going to get to your practice squats tomorrow. I am hoping i can do the same thing and send it too ya. I’ll keep you posted. I can also measure angles and bar speed but i am not that familiar with the program, still learning.

Standing hmmm, i may have to try that… i assume it’s just like it sounds? Bar at toes, standing and roll out all the way until body is just off the floor. Wish me luck lol.
Did you get upper in today?

Here is a comparison video of my last heavy squat before Arnold at 465 and my last heavy squat last week at 495. The timer starts at the bottom position, i think my speed was approximately the same with 30 more pounds and 10 lbs lighter body weight

How do you do that with the tracking? That is really cool. What is interesting is that the last few had very little lateral movement. Is that what you are aiming for? It would certainly save on energy to keep it like that.
It is on a program called dart fish. If you can get a squat from the side and email me the clip i can try to do one for you if interested?
I am not sure on bar path, i would think you are correct, but with the heavier weight i may be positioning the bar to get through the sticking point. Maybe someone has some thoughts?
I’ll see if I can get one from the side. I’d be interested to see how mine tracks. I expect it’s not quite so straight just due to the fact that the bar is a bit lower causing more forward lean.

Very analytical stuff here. Almost as interesting as the relative strength argument between the engineers on the PLing forum.

Fun to play around with.
New Romaleos just came in. The all black looks pretty sweet!

I have to think that the less “waver” you have from a straight up and down you have would lead to being able to squat more.

I would think that it would be pretty close although I am not sure the drift back is bad? It is intersting when you do it with reps, how reps sometimes vary from the first to the last.

Light deads today

315/5x2 with green band see vid for set up

No touch deads
315/3x5

Str leg deads off 3"

Lots of powerlifting for me in the next month

Be at state meet all day tomorrow
Help with state games next fri/sat
Nationals in august
Whew! lots of lifting to watch

Just using video with lifts helps-

your tracking program is pretty cool
It is kind of fascinating to see how little changes affect bar path or efficiency

I like those band deads… looked fast.

and sounds like a good set of weekends.

The all blacks Nikes are pretty cool, that’s what I have. Would like’d to have gotten hold of a pair of red and blacks I saw online just not for sale.

That band set up on the deads is very cool, seems to work real nice. Will try that next time.

Are you competing tomorrow or helping out.

Kev i think video is huge. I have a flip slide that i use when working with people and can give them immediate feedback, really works great. Deads did feel pretty good, hips are starting to recover.

Red/black sounds really sweet! I like that band set up for speed pulls, gives about 150 lbs of tension at the top.
Just working the meet tomorrow.

bar path thingy is cool - I look forward to using something like that. For now form is still bad enough I can see the bar pitch in the vid without it.

speed deads setup looks fun, must remember that.

have fun at the meets. I’m always the lone weirdo screaming her head off.

Hey German, looking good!

The bar tracking is super cool!

Damn, I always forget what a beast you are. Amazing lifting.

Have fun at the meets, my friend!

Hey frenchie, thanks for stopping by. Speed dead set up works good for RDL, etc too.
Thanks Maschy, hope the knee is doing well, don’t be such a stranger!

Meet went well yesterday but about wore me out. Only 20 lifters but short on help. Did every job that could be done at meet except lift but i would do it all over again today! Actually will be doing it again next weekend lol.
Did have a nice crowd at the meet, about 100 spectators. It was at a resort so there were lots of people curious about what was going on.

20 lifters and 100 spectators is great - did you man the concession booth too?

Lol didn’t have one. But if we did I would have had to stock it I am sure

I’m not surprised you had fun at the meet. I love helping out and seeing everyone. It’s like a low stress meet where you don’t have to lift but get all the social aspects of it. To me that’s the most fun part; seeing everyone, gossiping and catching up on everything.

That bar tracking is awesome stuff.

If you had two cameras we could see where the bar sits on all of your sets. It looks to me that you’re simply having to focus more on lifting your chest up as the weights get heavier. With the 405 you have no trouble but at 495 it just means you are working more. How close is that to your max?

Is that software expensive? It might be worth trying out to see how I track too.

james

O i am really glad you give back to the sport. IMO not enough lifters do, if they aren’t lifting they aren’t around. As a meet director it gets frustrating to have to beg people to help out, but that is part of the deal.

Thanks James, my last meet max was 501, had a little left to spare. The program we have is about $2500, i think there are cheaper versions though? If you have a clip you want to look at let me know, i can pm you my email, email it too me and I’ll see if i can put the tracker on it and email it back.
