Geez, that must be some serious center knurling.
lol the bar is about 20 years old. I actually think i scrapped it during Push Press last week and then just caught the same spot a few times todya. No wonder my neck was stinging…ha ha ha
I’m a big pussy. I rub petroleum jelly on that scrappy spot on my neck between every set of squats. I do the same on my shins for deadlifts (using much less). No more blood!

Lol punny…may have to try that
Yesterday was a restoration day. 2 foam roll/lacrosse ball sessions and an Egosque body alignment type session…
Today was bench
They felt ok but kinda sluggish, someone with more common sense that i suggested taking a few days to freshen up a bit…(thanks UP). I can tell when weights get a tad heavier each week thats its time to rest. This is also 11th week of straight training so good call all the way around.
Also body weight down to 195, so that tells me i am breaking down a bit…

Man that 315 flew up awesome work!
Thanks Matty, I think the bands took a little zap out of me from last week, even though the weight wasn’t heavy and the band resistance wasn’t great. Probably just the effort of pushing the bar fast.

Nice pressing and nice pulling.
all your lifts are so smooth.
I do 1 or 2 rounds of very light complexes to warm up on lower training days
I used to do one day a week of just complexes and some abs, need to bring that back
Thanks
How many rounds did you do on just complex day? I’ve done up to 8 with light weight to get a good sweet and as little as 3 cause i felt like i needed to do something? Probably need to find a happy medium…

Bro you are the Marvin Gaye of Weightlifting, smooth and effortless, great stuff. and no shot that session is a deload lol.
ha ha ha ha that is too funny. Been called many things but that is my first Marvin Gaye. I was fortunate to grow up where there was an abundance of very good powerlifters who were also willing to help out young people and I’ll always remember how smooth and strong their lifts were and technically sound (even if not main stream technique).
every one of their lifts looked the same from 135 warm-up to 1 reps max (basically the same). Just more focus and higher aggression levels.
Unload went right out the friggin window…ha ha ha WTF
Monday was squat day.
Had a pretty good pinch going on in my glute so did a few sets for technique and then stretched.
Used a 13" box for squats, worked on getting bar down bit lower (like i used too), keeping upper back tighter (easier with lower bar) and keeping bar over my feet.
I like to use the box for depth reasons, technique work and building strength out of the hole. I have tried the sit way back style and really didn’t care for it so i really never do a squat to a box that i can’t do without a box. Squatting to a box has been around for a long time, Simmons talks about that in his early writings (which i think are the best IMO). Can’t remember the lifter he refers too (maybe Waddington, Crain i believe did them for years etc.)
Back in the 70’s we used a milk crate which was about 10" high, put a plate or two on top if needed.
Squat
315x3
350/2x3
Stretch and done for the day…
You can see on vid i am searching a bit to find my groove but i am going to stick with the lower bar for a bit and see if i can get m groove back…
