Old School 2. (G1's Log.)

OK my gym option today was Planet Fitness…WHAT IS THE DEAL THERE! Lunk alert…no judging…no criticing…can somebody explain what that place is about. Luckily the outdoor skating rink i passed on my walk back to hotel was blasting guns and roses. Brought me out of the fog i was in from the gym.
And Maschy the bar there was worse than the last place so i am not even going to try to spell that lol.

Plan for today
Bench range 255-285 20 reps at an 8 rpe. If i felt good i was going to try to get to a true 8 according to the description in the book.
255x5 7 ish
275x5 7-8
decided to go out of range
295x5 8 ish
315x5 true 8
12 min total

Db Incline(only went to 75)
75/3x8 2 min rest between sets

Ly tri (touch bench above head)
115x5 7
125x5 7-8
135/2x5 8
12 min

Db row
75/3x15 E 3 min rest between sets

Not bad day overall. BTW in my training to train period so sets are focused but not agressive.
Had some hurry up and wait time during the day so got some short arc pistols, heel touches, step down/up forward and heel raise (foot inv/str/ev)

So interesting because my coach gave me a training video to watch where the squat portion was taught by Tuchscherer the same week you started this program. I’d never heard of him before.

How was the training video

Found this post from Glenn Pendlay:

Maybe going to see Kelly Starrett is the “silver bullet” you seek? You know what they say about how even the best doctors are not so good when it comes to self-diagnosis. Just a thought.

I always say the hardest person I have to coach is me. Same with self diagnosis lol. I’ll do a little research. Thanks pg.

Got idea of rolling out bottom of foot from Pete’s log and Kev got me thinking about ankles/feet. Haven’t rolled feet in probably 2-3 years. Ouch…hmmm

Heel touches 2x20
Step down/up forward 2x20
Heel raise in/out 2x20E

Abs…well not much better but at least no cramps this time.

Abs not sure today, probably need to step it up a bit.

Today
Squat
305/325/335/345x5 Belt, 345x5 felt pretty good, not quite qn 8 rpe but getting close

Hip was cranky so finished with:
GH raise 3x8
Heel touch 2x20 E
Short arc pistols 2x20 E
SL heel raise 2x20E

Lol on the “ouch…hmm”! My thoughts exactly. I actually have this weird device I got in China Town that you roll your feet over. Its amazing! But also loud and squeaky. Drives the cats nuts!

How’s the Tuchscerer coming along?

So far so good, just figuring it out. Lifting going ok overall, high stress day yesterday so took day off. Just needed a break.

I think my upper body is responding to this rpe stuff. I’ll know more on sq/dl as i get back into the groove with those lifts

narrow grip bench (index on edge of knurl)
285/295/315x5 315 was a 9ish rpe

Db bench
105/110/115 x5 8 rpe

Db shoulder press seated
70/3x5 9-10 rpe

Db row
80/6x8 E

rolling the feet is painful

I have to do it - I wake up and my left foot is
always cramped

nice pressing

hell, rolling the feet to me is a thing of beauty. it helps me that much.

training is looking great

Thanks Kev and Pete
Been doing some lazer stim thing on knee and really seems to be helping. Also i have added GH back in the mix and had to cut today due to hip pinch, that might reconfirm my theory that it is ham related. Was able to do back ext no problem. I hate puzzles.

Today
SL dead
405/455/495x5 @ 9 rpe

Had to cut Fr sq and GH

Heel touch
3x20 E

Short arc pistols
2x20 E

Step down forward
x20 Right only

Heel raise
in/out x20 E

Felt like i didn’t do much but probably the right load.

Sat
30 minellipticall
20 min spin bike

Sun
Kb’s
6 exercises
4 min straight, alt arms every 30 sec, 60 sec rest between exercises

Really cleaned up diet and am off coffee…yesterday was a dooozy…might have to try that primrose oil to steady out for a few weeks lol.
