Who are we to say that the one guy is a lowlife, while the old guy isn’t? We only see a short video clip of each of them, we don’t see how the whole altercation began, and we don’t really know anything more about either of them. From what we saw in the video, they both acted like jackasses. We can’t really make any further character determination from that one clip.[/quote]

I cant say 100% sure that the young guy was a lowlife but look at the evidence
He said something prior to the tape to instigate the white guy
He began the verbal abuse and was the first one to make a threat
He shoved an elderly man(face or chest doesnt matter like another poster said he could have just had surgery)
And even after the old guy got up and walked away he continue the verbal abuse and followed him when his threatening comments were challenged by a man who was minding his own business to begin with

Sorry to keep going on about this but I just cant comprehend how somebody can not see the younger as fully at fault and the old guy just defending himself

Those of you that are saying the old guy overreacted clearly have never been in a fight. That old man handled the situation perfectly. The brother wasn’t as mad as he made out to be, and he was trying to act tough and Debo that old man. The old man was clearly actually angry, and getting angrier with every empty threat the brother tossed his way. That old man has probably been fucked with a million times [it’s Oakland people] and has been forced to learn the art of self preservation. That brother didn’t shove him with the intention of fighting, he was trying to punk that guy and make him look foolish in front of everyone. He tried to intimidate the wrong dude and got what he deserved. Hopefully the next time he talks shit to look tough he’ll think back on that publicly viewed whooping and stop himself.

Also, it is really gay that he got arrested, but maybe it was for damaging government property and not the beating he delivered?

I wlll tell you first hand. If someone, anywhere in a public place puts their hands on me, be it a push or a shove, ESPECIALLY after I MOVED AWAY from the situation, I would break their face too. Regardless of if it was a thug black guy or a thug white guy who touched me.

I personally have only had fights with white people in my life which is jsut how life played out for me.

Oh and I also wanted to mention the fact that the 3 people sitting and taping in the back of the bus were yelling things like “kick his white ass” and callin the old guy “pinky”. So the old white guy also probably felt he was being threatened by a group of people now.

We don’t know what started the argument initially, but it is clear that THREE people were saying intentional, equally as racial comments to ONE man.

3 > 1 = the Lone bearded guy probably felt even more threatened and was forced to defend himself after he was attacked.
