I slept like piss last night and a could not sleep from 0400 on with a migraine. I was not sure how today was going to pan out. I pleased myself by blowing through the workout. In fact it was the best I felt in weeks.

Lifting therapy is excellent medicine. Great dead work.

Nice work. 505x3 is strong!

I’ve made great gains with the pyramid I’ve been using, but its killing my shoulders. Because of this I backed off the sets and reps.

I’m heading to a meet in March, so my idea is to deload bench next week. It will give my shoulder a chance to heal, and then I’ll hit it hard for the next few weeks.

Thanks guys. I must have done something to my back in the process. I felt good afterward, but after I cooled down I could barely move. I was really stiff this morning. Once I got warmed up I was fine, so I’ll see how the rest of the day goes. I’ll chalk it up to the joys of getting older.

As I stated above, once I got warm I felt great.

Today was my deload bench before the stretch to March. I’ve been benching pretty heavy for a few weeks, so the recovery should help my shoulders.

Today was week seven of eight. I felt really strong and blew through this. 490 and 540 were easy. I just missed lockout at 530, but it was caused by a couple things I think. I did not allow for proper recover, and I just gave up on it too soon. None the less everything was great. I think 600 has to be around the corner.

I have a meet in March, and I’m looking for a new PR.

Looking to see you hit that 600 and I am trying to match you or better. Been eating my steaks for practice in case I lose.

Ha. It’s a ways off. I wouldn’t eat too much steak. I’m still have a way to go, although sometime this year is looking good.

That looks like a real strong pulling session. Nice work, you’ve left me in the dust.

Aren’t you too old to be lifting heavy stuff like this? 470 x 3 on squat is just dangerous.
