I probably should have grabbed one or two more at 360, but I started to feel pain in my lower back, so I backed off. I figure as long as I reach the minimum reps, I’m doing something.
I had a contractor at the house after work, so I was there way later than normal. I arrived about the time I’m normally leaving. The place was packed and super-hot. I did the bare minimum.
I’m pretty excited. I woke up this morning to find I have hit the 24 pounds lost mark. We’re going to Vegas again on the 19th and I am already at my goal for that trip. I’ve decided to move the goal posts and see if I can drop another five by then.
At my meeting last night, I ran into a young lady who is a former student at my second job. She commented on my weight loss and said I look great. Of course that was great for my ego.
That was an epic one. Almost two and a half hours. I’m finding the weight loss is having a slight effect on my overall strength. I wanted three or four reps at 310. I might have been able to push another one out with a little help. Still, however, I am hitting my minimums and exceeding them.
I about lost my cool with a truly annoying guy. He was doing some kind of circuit. He’d do some dumbbell press and then run over to where I was doing dips and do pull-ups. There are multiple pull-up areas, but he picks the one right next to me. When I was on the treadmill, he continued to run over the one next to me and do sprints, leave and come back. It didn’t matter each time I let out a “f&#k” each time he came by. At the end of his workout, he stretches. But he goes to the area where you walk in. Therefore, you have to walk around him to enter or leave. Never mind the whole gym was open to him. The guy was totally unaware.
This was another two-hour session. I wanted to hit the 30 pounds lost mark today, but it was not to be. I’ll keep pressing. I was stuck at 16 pounds to a bit, and then the weight came off. I suspect I might be at another plateau.
Each morning I get up and think, this will be the day I break the 25 pounds lost mark. I feel like my diet is on point, and I have upped my workouts. For the past 10 days, I have been averaging two hours a day. Each morning, however, I am stuck at 24 or 25 pounds. I remember being stuck at 16 pounds for a while, and then the next eight or so just came off. Hopefully, once I break this plateau, the same thing will happen.
I finally did it. I broke the 25 pound mark. I’ve now lost 26. My goal is four more before our vacation on the 19th. If I hit that, I’ll be the lightest I’ve been in probably 20 years.
I again, noticed the weight loss is affecting my strength. 300 felt like 3000. I’m going to repeat this session next time. It will be after we return, so I should be properly rested.
I finally made an appointment to get my knee looked at. I’m certain it’s arthritis, but my ankle is now swelling during the day. AI tells me their related, but I want to make sure. I’m hopeful the weight loss will help with both issues.
While on the treadmill I couldn’t help but think the vest weighs almost as much as the extra body weight I was packing around.
