It’s that time of year again. 34 degrees at carry time. 100 yards for a bearhug carry is the most I have done at once. I normally have to divide it up in two sets.
My 6th rep of 295 was a mess. I saw my spotter reaching for the bar, but I yelled at him. He’s a good guy, who I’ve known for a while, so he was good with it. Number seven was spot on.
Today was a nice bounce back from last week. I was only able to complete three at 385 last week, so I stopped and tried it again this week. I normally only deadlift every two weeks, but I felt good today. I had to reset a couple of times, but I gutted out the 10.
It’s coming. I was stuck at 135 for a long time. I moved to 145 about two months ago. For some reason I really suck at this exercise. I do think pullups are helping.
My driveway was still a little messed up after yesterday’s snow. I had to measure out a new path. The carries were much shorter, so I treated them more like sprints, with shorter rest periods.

I recently purchase an extremely expensive piece of equipment at work. The business rep / trainer is also a lifter. I told him I expected some swag from his company. He set me up with a hat and a cool shirt that fits really good.
I wore the shirt to the gym today. A guy I’ve known for a while came over and told me I looked like I lost a lot of weight. I told him to the contrary I have gained few pounds. He told me whatever I’m doing to keep it up, because I look better than at any point he has known me. I thought that was pretty nice on his part.

Somedays you bring it, and somedays you bring a little more. Today was one such day. I felt really good, and I just kept going. We’ll see how the body feels later on.
