Cold front came through, I guess.
It’s all about perspective. It was probably 85 or so. They are saying 107 this weekend.

Perfectly describes my garage gym at 5:30 AM
I love the south, but that’s a little much at that hour.

Bench:
5 x 225, 5 x 245, 5 x 275, 3 x 315, 2 x 335, 3 x 315, 5 x 300, 5 x 275
Got it done before it gets too hot.

Front Squats:
10 x 225, 10 x 245, 5 x 275, 3 x 275, 3 x 275, 10 x 245
Leg Extensions:
4/10/180
Lunges:
4/15/45 in each hand
I really have not done a full on leg day in a while, and I felt it.
I’ll be spending the next three days with my father. My mom went to her uncle’s lake cabin in Idaho for a few days. My dad can’t take care of himself. Since he is disabled from Vietnam, the VA has a care giver that comes during the day anyway. I just have to spend the night with him. It’s been at least 26 years since I have slept back home on the farm. I’m going to try to find some conditioning stuff, and heavy stuff to lift around the place. It shouldn’t be too hard.
8/21/20
Bench:
10 x 135, 5 x 185, 3 x 225, 3 x 245, 3 x 275, 3 x 315, 10 x 225, 10 x 225
Finally back in the “gym.” I really was not feeling it. It’s been a long and stressful week at work. I bailed before things got heavy. I think I am going to change things up anyway.
8/22/20
Deadlift:
10 x 135, 5 x 185, 3 x 225, 1 x 275. 1 x 315, 1 x 365, 2 x 400, 3 x 375, 5 x 345
I think I am going to change things up. I’m going lighter and work on reps. I did this when we all transitioned into the garage. I feel like I made really good gains. The past few months I got away from that, and I feel like my progress has slowed. I think it will be a good way to shock the body, before doing less reps again.
Looking good as always.
Been trying to get in more direct arm work; super-sets, drop sets ect.
Always makes me think of your log… ![]()
Crippler, my deadlift and row workout Saturday was remarkably easier than I expected for being off 5 months. Squats felt good this morning. Gotta be the farmers walks and sandbag work.
Gotta have a gun show.

I was called out and had to put on a gun show again. I played a round of golf yesterday after work with a couple buddies. I took a bunch of crap because they said I couldn’t bend my arms. In truth, it’s been four years since I last played. I just suck.
Admit it, you loved their arm comments.
See, I knew I was right.
“Suns out, Guns out”.
I have to admit…yes.
Yep, your the reason I did it. I think it was supposed to be shoulder night. CT Fletcher says he trains arms everyday. I wouldn’t go that far. Once a week keeps the arms popping.

One of my long time friends came over today for walks. My friend Les is a former co-worker who retired seven years ago. He was a big time powerlifter in the 80s and early 90s. He’s 70 years old and still in great shape. He lifts everyday and teaches martial arts. Les convinced me to compete 10 years ago. Since then I rely on his wisdom often.
Also, I ordered my sandbag yesterday.
