That sounds like a good workout right there.
You don’t really feel you workout but in the end it’s a whole body workout.
Your dog really seems to believe that there’s something in there ![]()
LOL, my nickname when I was stationed on the Abraham Lincoln was Master Splinter, so that comment took me back. I like to think it was because of my Zen-like understanding of all the nuclear plant control systems on the ship, but I think it was at least partly because of the cheesy moustache I had back then… ![]()
It was a seriously good workout. Feeling fine this morning, except I have some enduring bark-prints on my shoulders and forearms.
I’m afraid I’ve trained my pup to respond that way. Back before I moved into town, I would take the dogs for walks off the leash, and I’d flip brush piles to flush whatever game was there for them, so he sees me messing with a brush pile and he’s sure there’s a critter coming out of there for him to chase/catch/eat.
4/7/19 food for yesterday
Breakfast: Shake = 1/2 cup whole milk, 1 scoop quick oats, 1 1/2 scoop protein powder. 1 banana.
Lunch: 3 oz. of frittata. 1 grapefruit with salt.
Snack: 1.5 oz deluxe mixed nuts.
Dinner: 6 oz. dark meat roast chicken. 5 oz. potatoes, carrots and celery. 1 biscuit with butter.
Bedtime: 1.5 scoops protein with creatine.
Totals for today 1721 calories, 150g protein, 154g carbs, 61g fat. Fairly light day calorie-wise, especially since I spent several hours working outside. I also mowed after my entry last night, so some more calorie expenditure. I scarfed down the 45g of mixed nuts after I finished moving the downed tree but before mowing, and that tided me over until dinner.
4/8/19 morning weigh-in 185.6# Back down again from yesterday, and hopefully I will see in the 184’s this week as well.
Okay, that picture is equal parts hilarious and deeply disturbing…
4/8/19 food for today
Breakfast: Shake = 1/2 cup whole milk, 1 scoop quick oats, 1 1/2 scoop protein powder. 1 banana.
Lunch: Leftovers = 1/2 chile relleno. 1/2 chicken taco. 3 oz. spanish rice. 3 oz. refried beans. 1 Tbsp pico de gallo. 6 tortilla chips with guacamole.
Snack: 1 can sardines in water, with salt and pepper.
Dinner: homemade fajitas = 6 oz. grilled flank steak. 1 flour tortilla. 2 oz. bell peppers. 2 oz. onions. .5 oz. cheddar cheese. .5 oz. guacamole. .5 tbsp sour cream. 1 tbsp pico de gallo.
Bedtime: 1/2 scoop protein powder with creatine.
Totals for today 1940 calories, 162g protein, 174g carbs, 60g fat. 50 calories over target, not terrible. All the food was delicious. I wouldn’t have had the sardines as a snack if I’d know what was for dinner, but oh well, they were good too. Fajitas were awesome, I was satisfied, but I could easily have kept pigging out if I’d wanted to. My only regret today is that the wife asked me to make her a lemon drop cocktail, and I didn’t have any room to fix myself a cocktail too. I’m better off saving that for the weekend, anyway.
4/9/19 morning weigh-in 185.6# Same as yesterday, and I’ll take holding in the 185’s as a win.
We the same weight very nice hi five
Yer but who is the fattest !!
12v3. Checkmate
That’s cause I already ate the other 9 !!! ![]()
Bah, get those amateur night vices out of here! I told y’all, fat is my vice of choice, not sugar! Oh, and I indulged the hell out of it last night! Went out to the bar and had a burger with bacon, fried egg, grilled onions and jalapenos, along with fried okra and 2 margaritas. This was instead of the training I was supposed to do last night. I regret nothing!
@guineapig @simo74 I gotta say, though, as pretty and aesthetic as those fancy cupcakes are, for a sweet tooth fix nothing beats the simplicity of a Krispy Kreme glazed donut!
I’ll get around to posting yesterday’s food debacle later. 4/10/19 morning weigh-in 186.2 Back up again, big surprise there… I’m actually surprised it wasn’t higher.
My man but for real fat adds up so fast especially in tasty things. One meal and then all of a sudden oh no I’ve blown out fats for the day.
#nomacrosgang
@OTHSteve that meal sounded like a lovely snack, you should have added a family size pizza to go with it. ![]()
Yeah, I don’t really worry about macros that much as long as I’m getting enough protein, but I know if you keep fat low you can nosh on a lot more food because of the whole 4 calories/gram vs 9 calories/gram thing.
Buddy’s Bar and Grill doesn’t sell pizza, or I might have been tempted.
4/9/19 food for yesterday
Breakfast: Shake = 1 cup whole milk, 1 scoop quick oats, 1 1/2 scoop protein powder, 1 large egg.
Lunch: Large salad = spinach, snow peas, bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, cucumber, mushrooms, carrots, radishes, onion, olives, 1 tbsp of olive oil, 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar. 1 can of tuna with Frank’s Red Hot.
Pre-workout snack even though I didn’t work out: 2 mandarin oranges. 1 can sardines in mustard sauce.
Dinner: 1 hamburger with bacon, fried egg, grilled onions and jalapenos. 1/2 order of fried okra. 2 margaritas on the rocks.
Totals for today 2224 calories, 165g protein, 184g carbs, 93g fat, lots of extra calories from alcohol. 544 calories over budget.
So, I was supposed to train yesterday afternoon after work, but I had to go up to the daughter’s house and get my riding mower so the wife could mow today before the weather turns bad again. Which meant I had to go back to my house first to get my trailer, so with all the going back and forth about 60 miles of driving, after which the wife decided she wanted a burger for buddies. I had already had my heavier breakfast shake and eaten my pre-workout snack in anticipation of training when these decisions were made, so my calorie budget was already shot, so I just enjoyed myself and didn’t worry about it.
Good for you for enjoying it and not stressing out that your plans to train got messed up. Too often we let this lifestyle consume us and we forget about whats really important.
I’m surprised the calories were so low. I thought a big ass burger like that would set you back at least 1000 calories
Well, the burger clocked in at nearly 900, 650 for the base burger plus all the add-ons, so my total with the margaritas for dinner was 1261 calories. I didn’t have that much leading up to dinner, though. Breakfast shake was 577, lunch was 402 and the non-workout pre-workout snack was 204.
Are you secretly me?
It was supposed to be a secret? Dammit, why don’t I tell me these things??
