Clean and Jerk:
-40 kg x 3
-60 x 2
-80 x 2
-91 x 1
-100 x 1
-110 x 1
-115 x clean, miss, 1
-117.3 x super-miss (twisted ankle)
Notes:
-was a pretty good session, finally got 115 even though thats not a PR I was happy. Should have called it a day though, because I fucked up my right ankle with the knee popping in on the recovery of the clean at 117.3. In the beginning it really hurt, but then stopped hurting sharply after only about a minute. I have full mobility but it does hurt to twist it in, like if I was the use the floor to make a sidekick edge. I am icing it, elevated, resting, and am going to wrap it with something.
I won’t lift tomorrow, and the only thing I will do at most this week in the gym is max out the bench press. By the end of the week, it should be good, and by the time everything is set up at home I should be good to work back into squatting. I don’t anticipate too many problems, but man did it hurt at first. I had to check to make sure all the bones were still inside my leg. I heard my ankle pop. Not fun. No crying for me though.
@cloystreng:
Was the 115kg clean & jerk ugly??? If so, next time don’t go up.
You should be fine though… also let me know when you lift on Sunday, i might make it too.
really weak due to not enough sleep… definitely affected the amount of weight i could lift, but still had a good training day.
Snatch: (heavy single)
-up to 80kg: 0,1
—had to walk a bit
-set up for 85kg: didn’t lift it past my knees
—my form went to shit I felt I was using my back off the floor to pick-up the weight.
Front Squats:
-up to 105kg: 3reps
-down to 95kg: 3reps x2
-up to 110kg: 3reps
-down to 100kg: 3reps x2
-up to 110kg: 3reps
-down to 100kg: 3reps x2
-up to 115kg: 2reps… missed the third

Yeah its not so bad now, I put some ice, took some advil, and wrapped it in a makeshift ace bandage made of ripped up t-shirt. Elevated right now.
I won’t be lifting tomorrow, but I do plan to max out some time during the week for bench press, and probably overhead press as well. Not back squat or front squat, which does make me a bit sad.
115 took 4 attempts to jerk, but the cleans were fine. 117 just was a weird fuckup. My knee hit the ground but not at all like when I mess up a snatch. It popped to the side and my ankle went “pop” and hurt like a bitch. Should be fine though, I’ll take it easy this week and ease back into squatting when I get home.

-too bad the DBs only went to 100 lbs on the rows
-ankle feeling ok, no problems with any of the lifts

Competition on the weekend coming up.
2nd day back after about a month
snatched up to 95
CJ’d up to about 115
FSQT up to about 135
shooting to meet my old PRs since my training has been made erratic.
You gonna sack up and hit that national total this year, fella?
You bet your ass. I’m like 2kgs away. I’ll do it latest Westerns. Westerns is in my backyard this year. GIT SUM.
That’s the right attitude. Now if only I could convince Avocado to sack up and hit that national total in competition . . .
By “your backyard”, are you saying it’s at your club, or in BC in general? I mean, I know they’re in BC, I just don’t know if they’ve announced yet where in BC . . .

My buddy cloystrengh sent me this gymnastics training book for noobs. So I did a bunch of beginner stuff like L-sits variations, Frog Stance, and handstands (head + hands on the floor).
This shit was hard at first, but I was surprised how quickly the body was getting used to these simple variations.

By luck of the draw I was able wedge in a short workout with my GF today.
i’m psyched right now. i haven’t done any type of olift in over a month due to my wrist injury, but last night i was setting up in the clean rack position to stretch out the hurt wrist and i felt like i was ready to try some jerks. so today i did jerks from the rack and worked up to 125 kg, and it felt super easy. before that the most i had ever jerked was 115. i think i had a good 5 or 10 more kilos in me too. still dont feel ready to get back into cleans and snatches yet, but i was pretty happy about this.

Cool, I haven’t been able to try much of it but the floor exercises are tough, well the advanced stuff at least. Glad you liked it. It can be a lot of fun. Of course not better than clean and jerks, but better than snatches lol. Just kidding.
BC in general, specifically Richmond, the city I live in. My club is based out of white rock which is like a 40 minute drive. not too sure about the full details but I believe that is the plan.
Made 97/115. Not bad for first week back after a 2 month hiatus. cleaned 121 but didn’t hit the jerk. So clean PR. Feels super strong so I think a PR is in order
