Ohio State LB/DE Vernon Gholston

I wasn’t accusing him of juicing, I was just commenting on his freakish physique, looks more like a bodybuilder than a football player…and I personally have never encountered anybody that looks like that who hasn’t experimented with some type of steroid…more props to him, i was just asking if you all think he could have beaten the system at all, that’s it

Post-workout nutrition?

Lol. Cinnanmon rolls. Lucky bastard if he can’t eat those and be that jacked.

My guess it he did 'roids in HS (not tested) and with his tremendous strength out of HS and the knowledge of strength coaches at high-level D1 universities, he continued to improve on his strength and build.

It’s probable that he did as much juice and work in HS as other motivated HS football players.

Just my $.02.

Who knows? Who cares?

It is funny to see people deny the possibility and it is funny to see people assume he must be using.

Nobody knows for sure except him.

He is pretty damn impressive.
Not really. I worked in a gym and saw enough juicers to spot them a mile away…
GH abusers are easy to spot to. If I had to guess he is probably doing both growth and juice.

My guess is the way he trains and eats puts 99% of us to fucking shame.

To the high school steroid conspiracy theorist, theres a picture of him in high school in one of the old college football lifting threads, he was A LOT smaller, his transformation happened in college.

Do you think it’s a
conspiracy that HS football players are using 'roids in general, or that HE was using 'roids in HS ?

Some communities are already thinking of imposing testing. That to me shows it’s not just a conspiracy.

Dave Tate would be ‘FUCKING’ proud. But it’d be even better if he were carrying Oreos.

I can say with almost certainty that he is clean, unless he is in the care of a physician or medical practitioner skilled in the art of urine manipulation and/or system flushing.

The frequency of drug testing we faced at Notre Dame had very, very little wiggle room for those who wished to illegally supplement (and there were a few). Ohio State has been heavily involved in post-season play during Vernon’s time there, a time when the drug tests come even more often.

Far more likely, he is in a top-notch strength program, is someone that is nutrition conscious and actually follows the guidelines given by their nutritionist, works his ever-living balls off, and finally (although I’m hesitant) has great genetics. I say hesitant because the last thing I want is the “my genetics suck” bandwagon that inhabits these boards now to hoist this as their rallying flag.

Their was a thread on here somewhere that had a picture of him from high school. I can’t find it, maybe someone has it?
Good post. I’ve seen too many people do too many amazing things to assume every one of them is juiced simply because they’re jacked and/or have some seriously vascular arms or chiseled abs. Whoopideedo. It somewhat insulting when people accuse others of taking steroids because it’s like they completely discount the hard work and blood involved.

Oh sure, they might SAY that they know that steroids don’t do all the hard work for you, but they don’t really believe it. If they did believe that, they’d have to face the fact that they’re throwing around accusations largely because they are lazy and can’t face the fact that they won’t work hard enough, long enough, or obsessively enough to reach true excellence.

This is kind of a personal thing right now though, as this recently happened to me. While I take it as a compliment indicative of my progress, I’m fully and painfully aware that I am nowhere near elite, yet. I’m not even very big at 218. And it feels shitty to know that people chalk up the progress made by 4800 hours of reading, 13,000+ meals, 6000+ hours of training, and untold hours of thinking, bleeding and dreaming and chalk it up to taking a pill or injecting some juice.

I’ve got nothing against vitamin T. I think it ought to be legal, and as long as it’s not against the rules of your league/sport, I think you should be able to use it. I think it’s amazing stuff, and I’d be lying if I said I haven’t thought about running a cycle, but I don’t need to. I’ll probably run one at some time, but not now.

People make too many excuses based on their fragile egos, laziness, and fear of failure. “Yeah, I could squat 500lb if I juiced that much”. Whatever. They’ll never make it because they’re lazy and weak willed. Suck it up and work harder. People really don’t know what hard work is in the gym.
