You’re funny.
Funny haha or funny restraining order? I think it could go either way. I think it’s funny haha that you may have to get a restraining order.

Having said that, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that picture. Maybe it’s on my computer.

You guys will be getting your notifications in a couple days. No worries.

No, that was a joke, like you say no tone with typing.

did you wave a dumbbell at homeless guy and scare him off?

No. If there were dumbbells in this place they would be stolen in a second. It has the oldest equipment I have ever seen. Most of the cardio machines are broken (which is why I do HIIT on the treadmill, I hang on to the bar and push the belt as I run, yes funny haha BUT an excellent workout) and the pins for the weight machines are continually being stolen so you can’t use them either.
Don’t worry about working out in a shitty gym. Look on the bright side and consider each workout as an adventure, like Indiana Jones. My gym is a crack house with weights. They don’t steal the dumbbells, but I have seen the plates used as weapons and projectiles. You develop serious concentration skills, too. I no longer drop the bar or miss a rep during drive by shootings, but I did startle a bit when the meth lab blew up.

well now,… and who says the smith machine is worthless?

I once got laid by the actual Smith Machine. It hurt.
I’ve been trying to convince people that my powerlifting nickname should be “The Smith Machine.” Hmmm.

Is this a soreness or more of a burning sensation?

For most people it is just soreness; however, given your history with Obi Wan, I’d wager you’d have a burning sensation.

pffttt*** Hahaha! Ya made my shake come out meh nose.

I was at the beach this early morning and it was a great way to start the day. My traps are a bit achy this morning I think from the wheelbarrows. Today is Upper Body which I will be doing this evening. I’ve been doing some stretching and things are feeling better.

Carrying a 50lb bag of dog food is not an atlas ball but I still made the requisite noises and made scary faces at the other shoppers when I lifted it. My dogs were cheering me on when I walked in with the bag. They know I won.

I eat a hella lot of eggs. But I like them. This morning I had 2 scrambled eggs with spinach, red bell pepper, and hot and spicy peanuts. I love the hot and spicy peanuts for cooking.

Alrighty then

back to Sex and the Smith Machine =)

What do you do with the hot and spicy peanuts? I love them but don’t eat a ton of peanuts. Now eggs, I do. I have a bowl of boiled eggs in the fridge for snacks. I know, what a rebel.

That picture makes me want to blow the guy in the rack. What an Alpha Male. He’s not your new guy is he?

I think we just found the name of pushmepullme’s next training log.

Hey! I think I know this guy! I have one at my gym too, but he does not wear glasses…hmmm. He does 1/4 squats on the Smithy (bar only) while wearing his weighted vest. Then he hoots, hollers and high fives his boyz after his set. Very entertaining stuff.

Perfect Vader.

Keep up the good work OG.

When I’m not bending over in front of the guy in the squat rack, just to give him an “atta boy!”, I am totally having this guy lick the sweat off my calves and ankles.

For the peanuts and eggs.

I get the pan with some olive oil hot, I use a cast iron pan as they are awesome. I put the diced red bell pepper and spinach in and cook them a bit, then dump in the scrambled eggs, just before the eggs are done I drop in a 1/4 cup of the peanuts (careful as they are fattening) as nuts burn fast if you aren’t careful. That’s it and I love the taste.

I also use a coffee grinder to grind up my nuts whichever ones I have, and have used it to coat chicken. THAT is a great way to cook chicken with some of those hot and spicy nuts coating them. But also good on salmon surprisingly.

Sorry if I missed it, but what exactly is the balance issue you have with squatz?
Hey dianab!!!

I was rocking forward on my toes and then rocking way back on my heels to where it felt like I was going to flip over.

Turns out I had a problem in my inner ear, a growth that was freaking out my balance. They lasered it off, but my balance is still not quite right.

I had a friend check out my form yesterday and he said I was pushing up more with one leg which was also messing up my balance and form.

Well it’s good you are getting under the bar and practicing. Do you do any single leg stuff like step-ups, one leg squats or single LDL etc? They will help you to get a feeling of equilibrium and help you really feel the backside muscles working. I really believe that to get your butt and hams working well you need to really be able to dig in and feel the contraction, single leg exercises leave you no choice but to really work and feel them. If you can’t do a pistol squat, do them in the Smith with one foot crossed over the other knee until you get the strength and flexibility to do them alone. Or hold onto something and just go to parallel but keep working it.
Looking forward to your progress!

See, this is why I read your posts, you are awesome.

I don’t do any single legged stuff. and HELL NO I cannot do a pistol squat!

But… I will give what you suggested a try. Saturday is my lower body day, but I may just throw in Friday to give some of this single legged stuff a try.

Thanks Diana!
