I am getting really curious about this tequila incident.
Cool on the log, Miss October. I’m thinking I’ll start one when I’ve moved next month. My ass can race yours to uber-perkiness.

Ha…it’s about time you started a log.
With regards to those higher rep Leg Presses, you’ll just have to keep experimenting with the weight. Usually the first time you do them, I think people tend to err on the side of going too light. Just be careful about large weight jumps with the higher reps. They can surprise you.
Geez, I fall off the Earth for a week and over 100 posts?
Popular lady.

We’ve decided OG’s log is where we ladies can dispense love advice and otherwise counsel young men seeking advice.

Mind if we go back to the older/younger/dating/divorced/kids discussion for a minute?
What if a man does not want to talk much about his past relationships is he a dick? What if a young man chases older women because they are usually much better in life period? Also, do they have a name for that? ie. cougar for women?
I don’t see cougar as a bad thing, but maybe I see it from a different context. I’m almost 33 and most men my age are practically dead let alone most men even a few years older than me, so to me “cougars” are just looking for a male with some life in him…maybe…thoughts.
Oh btw hello OG, I’m Free, I don’t think we’ve spoken before.
I’ll give you my answer. OG is free to pound back a couple of tequila’s and answer for herself ![]()
I enjoy younger men but not because they are younger. I enjoy people for who they are. I don’t actively search out people based on their age. In my opinion, cougar has a negative connotation. In my mind, it implies a certain air of desperation and predation. What annoys me about some younger men is that they think they should be considered quite a catch solely by dint of the fact that they are young; we should fall over and spread our legs because some young cock is offering itself up. hahaha. That may be reality for some people, but not the ones I know.
I don’t think you’d be considered a dick for not talking about past relationships but, ultimately, it will be a road block for you. People need to see a map of your life to get a feel for who you are. A big part of that is romantic relationships. You don’t have to spill your guts in the first 5 minutes but it will need to be discussed over time.
Thank you, that all sounds reasonable and it isn’t that I don’t want to discuss it but I think it is often done too soon.I had a female who was 41 turn me down based on my age. She is 41 and we had a great date to the coffee bar, after that she said, “How old are you?” I told her she said, “Oh, I can’t date men younger than me.” Wow…she emails me but that is as far as it goes.
I’d date you. You just have to come up this way ![]()
I think you are right in information being shared too soon. Sometimes people seem to have the impression their life is reality t.v. and feel the need to spill everything immediately. It’s like a huge information vomit. As trite as it sounds, she’s not the one for you.
In my experience such an information vomit is an indication for covering up uncertainty. Or it could be an outcry for attention, mostly negative.
true… although when I get nervous I cannot shut up, worse, on tequila I am obnoxious and can’t shut up

Not at all, IMHO. It makes you just like every other man, which is usually where they go wrong.
that makes me very forward in just asking and hoping for a straight answer.
^^
The method I prefer.
Good advice. Honestly, I try not to read people’s minds or decipher their intentions regardless of gender. Because I’m a woman does not automatically mean I know what other women are thinking. Asking is always a good bet.
OG, can you change your log name to reflect all the older women/younger men/dating analysis going on?
Maybe something along the lines of Oprah ninja’s.
How the heck does Oprah keep getting fat? That has gotta suck.
I use my Magic 8-Ball to figure out what people are really trying to say

I once made a friend spit milk all over another friend, that was freaking epic! Sticks better than tea. I’m only funny if you are really twisted though.
I’d have to say 32 and 7/8 so there! Like anyone could know that! GEE!
I can’t stand Okrah! How 'bout the Ninja Love Connection.
oh well now it is on.
I am unfortunately a very competitive person. I mentioned my strolling debacle the other day. Damn folks had the nerve to try and pass me while I was strolling. I showed them. THEY ALL LOST. bastards

hey there… I like your stick
Good work on the Log OG! I hope it motivates you.
You might want to try some Deadlifts in your “Booty Quest.” (Come to think of it, I’ve been on a booty quest for the last 20+ years!?!- different type though)
I enjoy the witty female banter. Good insight and cracks me up. Next time I need marital advice, I know where to come…
Okay, today was squat clinic day
I had my pearly whites cleaned at the dentist and then scampered off to a friend’s house for a squat intervention.
We took his barbells outside to enjoy some sun, gotta love San Diego
So started with bodyweights, speed and slow, full and on to a chair.
I am shoving up harder with my right leg which is causing a bit of a lurch. I am also shoving my head too far back apparently. I didn’t know you could tilt your head too far back. So I ended up with his hand on the back of my neck and at my collarbones to keep me in good form. I think it helped to keep me focussed on keeping “big chest” and my spine in a neutral position.
My original stance was shoulder width but we widened that and had my toes point slightly more outwards. That felt much better. I was able to drop into a full squat without a loss of form with no weight.
Goblet squats
65lbs 3x5
Superset x3
Front squats
50lbs x5
to
bent over rows
50lbs x5
to
Stiff legged Deadlift
50lbs x 5
duckwalks 4x length of yard (those were really hard)
Wheelbarrows 2x length of the yard (once as the wheel barrow, once as the holder)
This was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed being outdoors and getting some help.
Although the smith machine gets some grief it was suggested that I up my weight on the smith machine and get a feel for it and then go to the squat rack.
The duckwalks and wheelbarrows made my thighs scream in a good way.
edit: don’t cut and paste without reviewing

Go to the squat rack.
Go directly to the squat rack.
The Smith machine will never help you with your balance, because the bar follows a fixed path.
For example, in the squat rack using the bar on your shoulders, your feet must be directly under the bar (regardless of wide or narrow stance) in order to execute and balance your movement. In the Smith machine, your feet can be much farther behind the bar or forward of it, because the need to balance is taken out of the equation.
So you really won’t “get the feeling” of a freestanding squat at all.

hahaha! I will. Okay, tomorrow is upper body but I will go to the squat rack and I will imagine Yo Momma behind me with her bass threatening to smack me with it if I venture near the smith machine.
We will all smack you if you venture to the Smith Machine.

But, despite popular opinion, I hear you can get laid in the smith machine. I’m all over that action.
They’re all right OG, to squat, you need to squat free standing. Look at all the time I’ve been spending recently on form. It’s a bit of an art. At least to some of us.

I saw that vid of you doing just the bar. I should probably get out a broomstick(not the one I ride to work, I keep that in the garage) and just practice form.
