I don’t remember reading about your flat ass syndrome. One of the reasons I ventured, for the first time, into a gym 2 1/2 years ago was because my ass was flat as hell. Squatting and squatting and squatting has made it bouncin’ and behavin’ and three dimensional.

Mind you, it looks no where near as nice as Adelibacy.

I’m totally in the same boat - I had no booty 9 months ago, and it took about 6 months before it ever even got sore from workouts. Lots of activation, single-leg work, and some heavy deadlifts later, it’s a little rounder, higher, and I can actually feel it working. I just added some sprints to my schedule, so hopefully those will add a little more junk to my trunk.

On another note, tabata dumbell thrusters are brutal, aren’t they? I’m going to try tabata front squats next week and see how those treat me.
the tabatas set my lungs on fire, it was a damn good workout!

I have always felt that sprinting is one of the best bubble-butt makers of all. This is just my opinion, unfortunately for me, my ass walks in about 5 minutes after I do. You are on the right track OG, keep it up girl.

I say this with all the respect intended in that I want big ole slappable badang booty

I was having a lot of issues with my squats, had an inner ear thing and I could not balance so I am slowly building back up

good to know I have big bubble butt ahead of me!
I have the opposite problem but I just need to make it more perky and less frumpy. Squat butt rules!!

Haha! Love it.

Yay! OG log…I dare say that you may just inspire me. I am still somewhat of a lurker . Looking forward to following your progress.

Hiya Doc! I hope you venture forth into the sunlight. I just didn’t log because I am fairly lazy about recording things but I haven’t seen a lot of progress lately so I need to make some changes.
I totally understand. I tend to log everything, but I don’t really like to journal much. I am with ya on the whole ‘responsibility thing’ I should though because I am starting my first cut and could use the support/guidance.

Anyhow, keep at the booty quest…I am sure that some of the guys here would be glad to offer suggestions on just how to ‘wake up your lazy glutes’ but I am not sure that these would be ‘gym approved’ endeavors though. LOL

Today, this morning, this early, early morning.

I thought I would try getting my workout done in the morning as life throws things at me to where I sometimes cannot go right after work.

I got up at 4:45am
10 BCAA tabs
1 cup coffee

grabbed my water bottle and was at the gym by 5:00am

warm up - 10 mins on treadmill

hack squat machine
bodyweight - x20
90lbs - x10 (holding at the down position for 10 seconds on last rep)
140lbs - x10 (holding at the down position for 10 seconds on last rep)
180lbs - x10 (holding at the down position for 10 seconds on last rep)
90lbs - x15

step ups
3 sets of 20 holding 12.5 dbs and doing overhead presses with each step up (my shoulders were tired before my legs)

Leg extension
60lbs - x10
80lbs - x10
70lbs - x10

tricep push downs
3 sets of 25lbs - x15

Leg curls
40lbs - x10
45lbs - x10
45lbs - x15

I am still not sure about the morning workouts. It was nice that there were fewer people there, but I think I was going slow in between my sets. I was trying to pay attention to the time but suddenly I would start thinking about what I was having to do that day.

I need to give it a longer try out time.

I am still having issues with my squat balance some of the time so I have been avoiding them =)

Got home, had me a damn good Pop Tart and two scrambled eggs, a good hot cup of coffee and got ready for work.

After work I went for a walk around the lake and it was a nice walk. Gorgeous lake and a great way to leave work and all that junk behind.

Leg workout at 5am… your nuts.

had to edit my vent

alrighty, I have coffee and deep breaths

Yo homey.

Quick question: how difficult are your heaviest sets? You approaching failure, or coming close to it?

You best not be slackin’!

wait wait… wait… what about that whole “don’t train to failure” theory?

because… then I am probably slacking

Having upbeat music playing keeps me in the game. I would also up my caffeine intake. My two centavos on that one
I would put some energy in mastering that squat. The buns you will build with its power will be unparalleled. I’m being serious now.

Cheerio

You don’t neccessarily have to hit failure…but you have to push yourself and you have to strive to progress.

Eventually, the weight additions start gettin tougher, and the reps start gettin slower. You have to push through that, and if you’re ending your sets before that level of fatigue sets in you aren’t gonna progress as well.

Kick that effort up, yo.

I want you to put your vent back in. I feel like I spend so much of my life pissed off, it makes me feel better when someone else is

At least share what it’s about.

Someone asked me if now that I am an old woman if I have lower standards in regards to the men I will date. It irked me a bit.

I was stepping up on to the 18-inch box. Funny thing happened but a guy was doing those jumps over a bench, the side to side jumps, totally biffed it. hehehe… oh I laughed. I very much laughed.

Fuck! Who asked you that? It’s an alternative to death by cop. Was it a guy who was maybe hopeful?

You know what bugs me? Just about every freaking thing. Specifically, now that I’m in my 40s young guys seem to think I’ll jump at the chance to fuck them just because I’m in my 40s. My standards are actually much higher because I’m fine being by myself.

Maybe they were just teasing. Did this person leave walking?

I am hoping it was just a clumsy question because he also insulted the men by saying you “you know, divorced guys, or guys with kids.” I said he insulted me and the men with that kind of question. I don’t think being divorced or having kids is a detriment, being an asshole is a detriment. I did give him a bit of a verbal spanking. I do get annoyed with young guys that think I must be a cougar on the prowl for them. I’m not.

I have never dated someone I wasn’t interested in. I have no idea what my standards are. Don’t be rude to waiters would be on my list.

Oh shit. Thems fightin words for sure. Seriously. I agree Ouro, the young ones think that we are so desperate to cling to ‘youth’ that we would nail any of them. They just don’t get it.

I get that shit with grades too. They think that if they flirt with me, that I will give them a higher grade because I’m ‘old’ and desperate for attention. Pfff

Please rant away…its good for your health!

I bet this said person has no standards now!! When people like this get to you, think about what must be going on in their creepy little mind and that will make you feel better…maybe!!
