No workout today. But I did kill quite a few balls on the driving range.

Anytime I get to hit something with a club, I am a happy woman.

tomorrow is a leg day. I don’t know about you men, or really, you women, but for me, … well dammit, it makes me all worked up and ready to jump on someone. What is up with that? Man I look forward to leg days.

I’d love to do the research and figure it out, but I don’t really care WHY it happens, i just like that it DOES.

Maybe because they’re the biggest muscles being worked.

For triceps, alot of us older dudes do Tate Presses. made famous by our hero Dave Tate at www.elitefts.com.

anywho, lie on the floor dreaming of me. hold dumbells in a barbell type grip with the bells touching each other over your chest. think of me, then flare your elbows, and while keeping the dumbells touching, bring them down to your chest, then explode them back up. breathe deeply and think lovingly of me.

I prefer doing it on the floor, but if you go to the link below, you can also do it on an incline bench.

if you don’t like my description, go here, where they dont think of me while exercising:

I did these tonight!!! I must have been vibing your post before I even read it. Probably from all that thinking of you, I just knew you wanted me to try this.

Those suckers were tough, but good. I felt a good hit on my tricep. Thanks for the suggestion!

CBear and ouro! you are right, why question what is just so much damn fun?

So last night was upper body, but I got to play softball with the folks from work instead. I like how they play, it’s like how they bowl. Get up, do some activity for 30-45 seconds, sit down and drink a beer. I was designated driver as always. Had fun, I like most things where I get to hit something, play with balls, choke the wood, all that. The best part was when one of our smaller fellas, he’s Asian (5ft, 125 maybe) tried to guard the base against one of our valet guys… Holey Moley that was ugly, funny, but ugly.

Tonight I did upper body. My best friend’s nephew is thinking of being a trainer so I volunteered to be a client for him to practice on.

Lat Pulldowns
55lbs - x20 (3 sets)

Lateral raises to front raises
15lbs - x15 (3 sets)

Bicep curls
15lbs - x15 (3 sets)

W curls
15lbs - x15 (3 sets)

Single Arm Cable Rows
35lbs - x15 (3 sets)

Resistance Bands
I don’t know what you would call it, you stand on the band and bring the bands up behind your back to grip the handles, arms shoulder height and flat against the wall, you push upwards but work to keep your elbow against the wall.
band x15 (3 sets)

Cable Bicep Curls
20lbs x 15 (3 sets)

my arms were getting pretty tired

Another one I don’t know the name for
facing the cable machine, grip the ball (no bar) in each opposite hand so the cable from an X above your head, the bring your hands down to soft elbows at just below shoulder height.
20lbs x 15 (3 sets)

Described as pulling a sword from a scabbard, cable machine single arm motion is drawing the cable up from knee height up to point with arm extended towards ceiling
20lbs x 15 (3 sets)

finished with plank

It was fun getting to do some new things, I think I would drop reps and add weight, but it was a nice change up.

The only unfortunate part of the gym tonight was a man with an EXCESSIVELY HAIRY BACK. I shave my legs, he can manscape his back.

It definitely happens to me.

But then, I discovered the joys of lifting at around the same time that I discovered the joys of not being super-puritanical, so it’s a bit chicken-and-egg. I think the exercise makes you more physical in general. More aware that having a body is a pleasure and not a hassle.

Hiya soldog =)

How about I just mime the action? Who doesn’t love a mime?

okay so was in work early today which is good because I get off earlier.

So two friends and I went to a local high school to do some road work.

We did crab and bear walks, plants and bridges. Unfortunately the wheelbarrows were a bit much for them but the trying was pretty funny.

the high school has a quarter mile track so we jogged the first quarter mile and then we started sprinting on the curves. It was fun and I was out of breath and I forgot how much fun it can be just to go out and run as fast as you can.

And… I’m sorry to say I was an unkind friend when my one friend totally ate it and just did a face plant. Oh man… too funny. But it reminds us all we aren’t as breakable as we think we are. I tried the long jump and I still jump like a rock.

To exit the track you have to climb this flight of damn steep stairs. Oh that sucked. I was hoping I would be lassoed by a band of marauding indians and drug up the remaining steps but no… no… didn’t happen.

I will definitely be doing that more often.

falling is funny !!! i consider it quite a treat as well as an accomplishemtn to see someone eat it bad. day is complete! can go to bed satisfied

nice workout!!!

why can’t you work out, outside?

and I gotta tell yah, I do like it myself.

this is the lake I was walking around last week.

I will take a pic of my beach next Tuesday or Wednesday. I get up early, about 5:00am, get some coffee, and go to this beach and watch the waves and the surfers and sometimes the dolphins if I am lucky.

well I like you already then. I don’t laugh to be mean, I laugh cuz it’s funny!

Crab and bear crawls give me horrible memories of old football days. If you really don’t like yourself much, try doing them backwards.

ditto to laughing cuz it’s funny. It’s funny even if I’m the one that fell.

hells yeah to your workouts!

I audit restaurants at my work. I asked why we couldn’t have one day a week, or even one day a month of just all healthy meals. Something where we could let the employees know the info of the dish and all that. I was told healthy foods are too expensive. They even use fake cheese in the employee dining room. Yes… .I bring my lunch every day. Although sometimes they have BBQs in the warehouse. The guys bring in the goods and girll it. Those days I eat in the warehouse.

And if anyone likes hot food and pickles. I bought these new pickles called Zingers and they have chilis in with the pickles. Hot damn things.
