go for what makes you happy! your body will respond in kind:)

oh…and anything related to Realtors, inspectors, bank officers, that have to do with house SUCK.:frowning:

Buying a house is the most stressful thing ever. Ever. Stay strong, and it will be behind you soon.

I always like hearing your training ideas. Bring it on!

I am still working through your squat rehab suggestion for my knee cave, and progress is slow but there appears to be some. Thanks again for the inspiration on that.

Yep, that’s part of what I had to remember. - If I do the workouts that I feel like/want to be doing, and they’re working areas that I’m weak/bad at, I will naturally push harder and get stronger. Just challenge myself as much as possible and do the things I feel like doing.

Agreed on the house buying. I’m trying to stay positive. The newest news is that we now won’t be able to close until after the end of the month (at which point we have to be out of our current apartment). So, we’re attempting to arrange an early move in, but the sellers won’t agree to it (even with us paying rent until close) unless they can know for sure the appraisal will come in where they want it to. grrr…

I have been following your log in my “free” time, and I have noticed a lot of good improvement and great workouts. It will feel like you’re barely crawling and then boom it hits you one day that knee cave isn’t your issue anymore and suddenly it’s another part of your body that’s behind. Awesome job sticking with it. I know how damn hard that is (boring and painful and ego busting as all hell).

btw… cardio this morning sucked donkey balls. Every step on the elliptical felt like my ass muscles were tearing. I don’t think I’ve been this sore in a very long time. With Surge, ANACONDA, the whole she-bang. Awesome. Tomorrow is supposed to be another of these workouts… (I whine a little, but really it’s mostly bragging and excitement.)

Yes, that’s where I got the idea. I actually did the escalating density program for ~1/2 a year (a couple years ago). I’ve changed it up now to include the legs and full body workouts, but using the underlying theory/program for volume & work.

Yeah for being excited about your workouts. Hope the house thing works out soon too.

It’s been three weeks, and I’m happy to say we finally own our house! I won’t even delve into the ridiculous story, but suffice it to say that our realtor, who’s been in the business for almost 30 years, said that it was one of the more impressive series of f’up’s and stupid jackasses he’d ever seen. Okay, I added the “jackass” part. We had rain (RAIN!) in Alaska at the end of November, the day that we started moving. Rain, after it had already been freezing and snowing for a good while, meaning the roads were amoung the worst I’ve ever seen them in the 20 years I’ve lived in Alaska… And I rented a U-haul and moved on that shit. Yes, I drove the U-haul. I rock like that. One of the few benefits of growing up in the back woods is the ability/skills to drive big equipment. We nick-named it the “Zamboni” for the four days it took us to move across town.

I have been in the gym and getting work in almost everyday, but I haven’t been online at all. No facebook, no email (other than work email), no T-Nation. But, I think things are calming down. I’ve got a few more boxes to unpack, and some work around the house, but I feel like I can breathe again. I’ve been fitting weights in after my morning aerobics, which has been interesting. Thirty minutes of aerobics and about twenty minutes of lifting each morning, followed by stretching. I lost a couple pounds during the past few weeks, but my strength seems to be doing good. I can still do set after set of ~6 BW pull-ups, easy sets of 10 dips each, and incline press 45 lb DBs for reps, so the upper body’s actually doing pretty good. I need to get back into the lower body rountine as well, now that we finally have our weight rack set-up again after the move. And we were able to hang our puching bags in the garage (which we couldn’t at our last place) so I’m looking forward to adding bag work into my workout routines.

I’m going to Hawaii here on the 20th, so that will mostly involve body weight stuff in the living room and some yoga… when I’m not lying on the beach…

Yay for home ownership! Bummer that it was a cluster fuck, but you’ve come out the other end of that. I am unsurprised that you are a bad-ass with the heavy equipment.

I am so jealous of Hawaii…please tell me that you aren’t going to Maui so that I don’t have to hate on you.

Kimba - No Maui. I’ve never been to Hawaii and this first time we’re sticking to the north shore of Oahu. On Turtle beach, actually. I’m beyond excited and am looking forward to doing absolutely nothing but laying on the beach, walking on the beach, and drinking on the beach for a full ten days…

wow you are such a badass for moving in that shit and still nailing the workouts.

lol @ the zamboni.

Hawaii for Christmas??

:faints:

That sounds so nice right about now! Happy Holidays!

Eat pineapple! So freaking delicious in Hawaii. And if you like fish, there are varieties like pink snapper there that you can’t really get anywhere else.

Jealousy abounds, but after all your hard work and stress lately you really deserve this nice break.

I plan on eating as much amazing raw fish and fresh fruit as possible. That, combined with day upon day of sunshine, beach, water, and stretching should find me a very refreshed person by the new year.

I’ll make sure to take plenty of pictures, mostly of the amazing food and beach views.

Ahhh… Back from vacation. Hawaii was beautiful. And humid - that was the best part. Alaska is so damn dry, I can’t believe how amazing skin can feel when there’s moisture in the air! We had two days of real sun out of the whole deal, but I laid on the beach as much as possible and played in the water every day anyways. We were traveling with my husbands family, so the normal family drama ensued. Every vacation is worse (I think because I start to anticipate it). This time I full on broke out in hives on my hands and forearms. not awesome.

I got back in the gym within a few days of getting back and have been doing my weights after cardio in the mornings, which has been interesting. Weights five days a week, alternating upper body push/pull and lower body workouts after 30 minutes of cardio each day. I decided to keep it simple for the time being as I’m about to travel for five weeks for work (no point in getting into a routine only to have to change again in a couple weeks).

I am trying something new in the nutrition realm. My husband and I are both going to give the MAG-10 Pulse a try. Today was the first Pulse day, and I can only say… consuming only liquids, when already calorie deficit, makes me into a bitch. grumpy… quite grumpy. However, I also craved my veggies and chicken breast all day, so I can thank this Pulse day for making my normal food routine sound Amazing. I’ll be pulsing once a week for the next three months (have to give it an honest try to really have an opinion).

I’m figuring out my workout routine for the coming 5 weeks of travel. grins I’m sure there’s something interesting out there that can leave me in post-workout trauma.

Glad you are back, and I’ll be interested to hear more about your diet experiment. I hope you are traveling somewhere warm!
