2 or 3 eggs has been my breakfast nearly daily for years too. Occasionally with salsa. Infrequently with cheese. With sausage when I want to get bigger. With toast if I want to get much bigger (only fatter tho).
Deeply sorry to the late reply.
If you guys do not mind, and if you believe me, these pictures are from january 3rd, 2021.
Why I am interested to join in? Because I think I am the only one who is close to the 300 range. It is my desire to inspire more people in this range of bodyweight to join in to this challenge.
If the rules do not allow my subscription to the challenge, no problem, I will understand. I will report my progress at my training log.
A happy 2021 to all of you and special thanks to @ChickenLittle and @Chris_Colucci. You remembered me and motivated me in my worst moment. Thank you very much and God bless you
I’ve always struggled to eat a huge breakfast, though I did shoot for 4 eggs, plus sausage, plus a carb like cereal or toast IIRC when I ran BBB. I hope, later this year, to get back to something like that! Though I can probably do better, IE fruit instead of bread for a carb.
Welcome back! Glad to see you decided to join in. I think you have a shot at winning this thing. Your lifting is great and you get your diet sorted out you will be unstoppable.
I’m not really expecting drastic results like past years, but I’d like to lose about eight pounds for this. I lost 40 lbs a couple years ago so eight ought to be easy, right?
I’ve gained weight while eating in a manner that I deem healthy (compared to the way I was eating).
Not because I think Michelob Ultra is good beer, but because Sierra Nevada’s quality took a nosedive some years ago, probably when they built the plant in North Carolina and when most American brewers started using GMO wheat.
On the thread’s topic: despite my lapses of baking some homemade goodies (date bars, custard pie, chess pie) and eating said foodstuffs, my nephew, an authoritative source, told me yesterday, and I quote -
“You’re looking leaner.”
“Thank you!”
“No really, you’re actually looking thinner. Good job.”
Bear in mind, this is the same nephew who, one year ago, LOUDLY announced in the middle of the gym and in the presence of a beautiful, single woman my age that, again I quote, “you’re looking PREGNANT! For real look at that stomach!!” while pointing and laughing.
So, with testimony like that, there’s no need to produce objective evidence like a scale’s reading. Y’all should be getting worried about now.
Those are fighting words! I have now blocked your posts and will personally work to sabotage your training progress!
But in seriousness, I do think SNPA is a great “no frills, nice priced” beer. Hits a great balance IMO. Also it is nostalgic for me going to college in central Cali in the early 90s and still independent.
Do you have a link to anything about this, because I cannot find anything where GMO wheat is being marketed? I know monosanto did some testing with GMO wheat up in the Northwest, which ended up being some sketchy shit, but it was never approved for production.
I’m sure SNPA is no worse than the Shiner Holiday Seasonal Candied Pecan beer I drank after deadlifts tonight.
I’ve had SNPAs that were exactly as you described. They were flavorful and slightly complex with a hint of counterbalancing bitterness. Sadly, some of the more recent bottles I’ve had were lacking in flavor. I still wonder if it has to do with their NC facility.
And here’s the heart of your affinity! What’s your favorite Sierra Nevada? Mine is their seasonal Celebration Ale. It’s stellar when paired with a dairy dessert like well-made cheesecake.
The best I can give you right now is that the so-called Monsanto Protection Act was passed in 2012 when the country was focused on some brouhaha in the culture wars. The act forbade anyone, meaning farmers, from seeking legal redress in courts against Monsanto for two growing seasons if the people were harmed I felt they’d been harmed by Monsanto’s products or practices, such as their “Terminator seeds.” The act was egregious and unconstitutional in many, many ways.
Anecdotally, I’ve noticed a lot of American craft beers, as well as many other grain products, have declined over the last few years. The flavor is weaker and the satiety they used to give is absent. In contrast, the quality of European craft beers I buy haven’t changed and some countries there have outright banned manufacturers from using GMO grains. Similarly, some American brewers like Bell’s in Michigan specify some fo there beer is made from non-GMO ingredients, and those lines are also flavorful and satisfying.
I know I’m linking different ideas when arriving at my conclusion, but I’m convinced the franken-grains growing here are lacking in flavor and nutrients.
I live in CA, so everything available here is brewed in NorCal. The bottles (or cans) or usually very fresh, and bottled within the last few weeks.
Might be mine, too. I love their basic Pale Ale, Torpedo (but stronger than I usually go for), Celebration, and recently had their Tropical IPA which was very good. I also like Lagunitas as a “widely available” beer, and again it’s brewed not far from me so fresh and not-too-expensive. While I really like local, standalone breweries, I am growing a bit tired of “Double Hazy Strawberry Lactose IPAs” that come in at 8.8% alcohol and cost $20 a four pack. This trend has really brought me back to the basics.
All that said - I’m not having a drop this month and will be cutting back a lot in 2021. Too many weekend beers in 2020, and plenty of excuses to do so.
