You all are forgetting his book, Dreams From My Father.
Ordinarily I wouldn’t reply to myself, as it’s bad form, but, I just remembered that it may well be that Bill Ayers (seriously) is the actual writer of Obama’s first book.
Now if that is proven, will the Nobel Committee transfer the award to him?
What a great and inspirational story that would make! From terrorist bomber to Nobel Peace Prize Winner!
Oh, wait a sec, that’s already been done (Yasser Arafat.)
A little free advice: If you seek to be taken seriously at any point, this would be the time to say, “obama hasn’t earned this prize.”
Want some more ridiculous? Sure you do. The nominations were complete TWO WEEKS AFTER oBAMA TOOK OFFICE?
Even you, in your most rainbow-filled, mastubatory dem-fantasy, trance, have to realize the absurdity of this.
On the other hand, you are tme, so maybe I’m giving you too much credit.

Thanks JeffRo, I do agree that it’s meaningless, which is why I simply accept it for what it is and don’t really give a shit about it.
Other than seeing you and the Taliban both denouncing the same relatively meaningless award from a committee in Norway, I don’t really have any skin in this little game. Keep up the good work, jeffro.

Hey, tme. Good for you.
As far as who agrees with me, I don’t notice you linking anything when chavez/castro come out in support of obama.
Wonder why?
Try not to be too hypocritical (more free advice).

Torture.
Well, not really.

What do you mean? Are saying water boarding is ongoing? Or, that a new method is being used. Not talking about rogue guards here. I mean, is there a technique that Obama has knowledge of, and allows to be used regardless?
I’m going to drive my fellows, who are more often than not on the same right side of the political spectrum as I am, a bit crazy here. But there is a truth that has to be owned up to. Under Bush the world’s greatest superpower, a supposed beacon of liberty, rights, and freedom had some rather controversial interrogation techniques. I’m not talking about rogue guards snapping photos. But techniques used according to new readings of law and policy.
One of those especially, water-boarding, is viewed as torture. Even some of it’s earlier defenders (I’m thinking Mancow, after having it done) came to admit it was torture. Though, they may have still felt justified by our cause. Simply ending that practice, by the world’s most powerful nation, would’ve brought him consideration for this.

You do realize that in a press announcement made by fearless leader he basically said he wanted to make holding you for things you may have done years from now LEGAL, right?? so while he wont be doing anything “illegal” its only because he changed the definiation…
this was by far the most ridiculous thing done so far… yet another reason dems wont be majority at mid term elections and why BO is gona be a one termer…

Well he still reserved the “right” to detain people indefinitely, there are mercenaries that basically work in a legal vacuum and act as interrogation specialists and the practice of rendition is alive and well.
I woke up this morning thinking this was some kind of joke, but apparently it’s not. I am wondering who Obama beat out to win this…Professor X? HeadHunter? I am kidding guys, after all, who else keeps the peace better than you both

I don’t see anything wrong with giving it to him. It was a historic election and he’s giving the US a new international image.
Sometimes I wonder if people caught up in the political sphere realize the hypocrisy in which they talk about the President. On one hand they make fun of his appeal and charisma by calling him the “messiah” yet they also expect him to solve all the shit and problems on the planet.
Just worry about your own lives and see if you can’t do something to help society.
The key in your post is: Expect him to solve… He hasn’t DONE anything to deserve this award.
He hasn’t done anything, except spend an astounding amount of money.

Actually nominations were closed before that, so you can’t even give him that on his resume.
KABUL (AFP) The Taliban Friday condemned Barack Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize, saying rather than bring peace to Afghanistan he had boosted troop numbers and continued the aggressive policies of his predecessor.
“We have seen no change in his strategy for peace. He has done nothing for peace in Afghanistan,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told AFP.
“We condemn the award of the Nobel Peace Prize for Obama,” he said by telephone from an undisclosed location.
The irony on this story is these are the people that obama seeks to negotiate with in Afghanistan. I can see negotiations have started on the right foot.
The Nobel Peace Prize is a joke … in 2007 Al “ManBearPig” Gore beat out a woman who saved 2500 Jewish kids from Nazi’s (Irena Sendler … look it up).
And this year is just the icing on the bologna cake: Awarding to Barack Hussein Obama who hasn’t done a DAMN thing to deserve such a “prestigious” award. If he has any integrity he’ll concede the prize to the runner-up who, out of 200 nominees, I’m sure deserve it more that Obama.
