Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize

Sometimes I wonder if people caught up in the political sphere realize the hypocrisy in which they talk about the President. On one hand they make fun of his appeal and charisma by calling him the “messiah” yet they also expect him to solve all the shit and problems on the planet.

Just worry about your own lives and see if you can’t do something to help society.
The key in your post is: Expect him to solve… He hasn’t DONE anything to deserve this award.

We don’t want him to solve anything. We just want him to go away and stay off teh damn TV

My first thought after reading the headlines was to make sure I was reading the BBC and not the Onion by accident.

Then it was to go get a cup of coffee, because only addicts dream about coffee, and if there’s one thing I know…

And then I figured whiskey.
Tango.
Foxtrot.

I saw this thread and thought it was just more T-Nation madness.
Then I saw the AP article.
Still pinching myself. This makes no sense.

Sure it makes sense, the committee is filled with lefties who think that Obama is the second coming. No one should be surprised by this didn’t they also give one of these to Al Gore for all of his wonderful work on (cough) climate change?

One more sign that the end can’t be too far off.

Obama is da man y’all…c’mon I know you KNOW.

In all seriousness just look and think for a second at what Al Gore and Obama have done WITHOUT the use of policy.

They brought and bring people together. Can’t argue with that and peace.

You all are forgetting his book, Dreams From My Father.

That must be the accomplishment that the Nobel Peace Prize is for.

Either that, or it is for causing the planet to heal and the oceans to stop rising.

Not sure which part of that is so wrong, but maybe they just gave it to him to drive some of you over the edge.

Maybe they should have given one to bush or cheney, those guys were all about peace and diplomacy.

Stop that nonsense.

If I was in charge of the nominating process, I’d have different criteria. I’d start with actual achievements.

That would have invalidated bo immediately.

By the way, I hope bo mounts the podium the same day he decides to send those extra 40,000 troops to Afghanistan.

Btw, Gettnitdone, where you say Obama has brought people together – and I suppose you mean people that weren’t already pretty much together, e.g. fellow Democrats – can you explain to us who you mean?

On saying that one can’t argue with that “and peace,” what additional peace that Obama brought do you mean?

Come on, Bill. Don’t be so hard-headed. Can’t you see how he’s winding down Afghanistan? Can’t you see that appeasement of putin and his lackey, will lead to more peace? Can’t you see that being ready for some “serious negotiations” with iran is going to lead to a world of rainbows and hand-holding? Don’t you think that saying nothing when South American dictators spew their bilious invective brings us closer to Utopia?

Get with the program, please.

Stop the righteous anger. Like the Nobel Prize has meant anything since they fobbed it off to Gore. OMGNOWAI HE MADE A MOVIE.

You honestly think even the left gives a flying fuck at this stage? I’d say it was to sway the retards, but they all believe in Creationism and voted McCain (and have teabagging parties).

Obviously, he won it because he’s the new “Prince of Peace”.

And the gov’t school kids say, “Mmm mmm mm.”

Hey jeffr0, you and billie are in great company:
KABUL (AFP) The Taliban Friday condemned Barack Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize, saying rather than bring peace to Afghanistan he had boosted troop numbers and continued the aggressive policies of his predecessor.

“We have seen no change in his strategy for peace. He has done nothing for peace in Afghanistan,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told AFP.

“We condemn the award of the Nobel Peace Prize for Obama,” he said by telephone from an undisclosed location.
Ordinarily I wouldn’t reply to myself, as it’s bad form, but, I just remembered that it may well be that Bill Ayers (seriously) is the actual writer of Obama’s first book.

Now if that is proven, will the Nobel Committee transfer the award to him?

What a great and inspirational story that would make! From terrorist bomber to Nobel Peace Prize Winner!

Oh, wait a sec, that’s already been done (Yasser Arafat.)

tme,

A little free advice: If you seek to be taken seriously at any point, this would be the time to say, “obama hasn’t earned this prize.”

Want some more ridiculous? Sure you do. The nominations were complete TWO WEEKS AFTER oBAMA TOOK OFFICE?

Even you, in your most rainbow-filled, mastubatory dem-fantasy, trance, have to realize the absurdity of this.

On the other hand, you are tme, so maybe I’m giving you too much credit.

JeffR

P.S. Anyone else laughing out loud at the fact that obama won this award after increasing predator attacks into pakistan/increasing troop strength in Afghanistan/and hasn’t ended the Iraq War?

well, this prize has all the red necks foaming at the mouth, so that’s good.

And he did end Bush’s policy. That’s perhaps his greatest accomplishment. Don’t diss it, McCain wouldn’t have.

Which “Bush policy” do you mean, Wreckless?

Torture.
