Are Jordanians or Syrians even a profound people? I don’t get why we act like because Palestinians were a part of those countries that they suddenly have no right to inhabit the place they’ve lived continuously for 2000 years. Like the recent Neo-Colonial (re)constructions of Jordan or Syria who absorbed a bunch Arab people who got lumped in their borders are some sort of profound ethnic group.
I doubt any of those people during the 40s even identified with being Jordanian and/or Syrian and instead Arab and/or Muslim. Are Jordanians or Syrians even a profound people?
