Oatmeal in the blender

After reading the article on “Food that makes you look good naked…” I started to wonder- One of my favorite easy to eat meals is oatmeal with protein powder and cottage cheese, with fruit and some form of oil (either olive or canola) with water, all mixed in the blender and drunk like a shake. Now my question is this: Does blending the oatmeal raise it’s glycemic index? If anyone has any thoughts I would appreciate the feedback.

With added protein and oil, I doubt it’s anything to worry about. I like mine chunky style anyway. I just make a cold pudding using oatmeal, cottage cheese, and AP. (Microwave the oatmeal, then stick it in the freezer for a while before you add it to the protein mixture. Eat with a spoon.) Still, the other ingredients in your shake should keep the GI in check for the most part.
